How to set up an office in the bedroom?
The desire for a home office has become more urgent after many companies adopted the hybrid work model or full-time home office. However, the lack of an exclusive space means that many people adapt rooms, such as the bedroom, to accommodate a small office. But how can you exploit the functionality of a bedroom to make it both a resting environment and a place to work or study?

Choosing the space

Defining a good space is the first step towards integrating an office into the bedroom. First of all, the choice of where to position the table or desk should prioritize proximity to the window, so that natural light is used, which can help focus and save energy. In addition, it is important that the desk is away from or on the opposite side of the bed, separating the work area from the resting space. For large bedrooms, this can be achieved by using a TV panel to divide the rooms.

Furniture and the search for storage

To achieve good storage space, you should opt for furniture that occupies the vertical space of the room, i.e. the walls. Vertical niches and shelves can guarantee the necessary organization while saving floor space. In this sense, custom-made furniture also helps to make the most of the room, as well as multifunctional furniture, such as beds with drawers, headboards that also function as shelves and retractable benches - which are fixed to the wall and can be retracted after use. Hanging beds, on the other hand, give you the chance to set up an office downstairs with a workbench, chair and drawers, optimizing the space. And speaking of chairs, opt for an ergonomic one for comfort when working or studying.

Lighting: which is the right one?

While yellowish lights are ideal for rest and relaxation, the addition of an office in the bedroom will require white and more targeted lighting. Spots of light and pendant or bench lamps are also good options, as is the use of natural light mentioned above.

Decoration in the right measure

Finally, choosing to decorate the office with elements that inspire productivity, such as motivational boards, small plants or stationery items, can make the environment even more pleasant. To do this, it is important not to bring in distracting elements, including the use of light tones - such as variations of blue, green, pink and gray, among others. At the same time, shelves and murals in vibrant colors tend to harmonize well with a softer, more balanced palette.
