Industrial and rustic styles are styles that run parallel to each other and have been very popular in decoration lately. They are used in living rooms, bedrooms and are also making their way into kitchens, taking away the
clean , white feel that these traditional spaces have. Another trend is
gourmet areas, which are moving into the kitchen space, transforming it into a place not only for preparing food, but also as a living room, bringing guests closer to the food.

These two characteristics, which are in high demand, permeate the project by Érica Salguero at
CASACOR São Paulo 2017. The architect and decorator created the
Industrial Kitchen , which has 39 m² of inspiration. The professional designed the space with a young couple in mind who like to entertain friends and family. In addition, she was also inspired by the warehouses and studios that were common in New York in the 1960s and 1970s, without leaving Brazilianness aside.

This industrial and rustic atmosphere is reflected in the materials used in the project, such as recycled pieces, metals, wood, concrete, and oxidized or brushed iron objects. The ceiling and walls are covered in burnt cement, and one of them is covered in exposed white brick. In addition, there are shelves made of reclaimed wood and a structure made of copper pipes. The colors characterize the style of the space and are basically based on shades of black, white, and gray.

The kitchen also has a blackboard-style kitchen garden that encourages a sensory experience with the variety of herbs such as rosemary, basil and peppers. The highlight is the island with a stone countertop and stools designed by Jader Almeida, which welcomes visitors and invites them to a meal and a good chat with the host.
