Finding the balance between elegance and warmth. With this goal in mind, interior designer
Paola Ribeiro created a 270 m² loft for
CASACOR São Paulo 2023, full of coziness and design. Called
Casa Essência Duratex , the project features large windows facing the sumptuous walkway leading to the Conjunto Nacional building, a modernist landmark in São Paulo and the venue for this year's show.
"The frames inspire and induce the eye, hence the concept of a box, a refuge that shelters, protects and keeps its essence within itself", explains the professional.
The feeling of welcome is amplified by the use of Duratex's Florida Walnut pattern on the ceiling, shelves and walls , creating unity and well-being. This wood, very common in the United States and Canada, has its nobility highlighted by the veins and elongated cathedrals and the warm tone of brown.
The 5 m ceiling height creates spaciousness, but still exudes comfort - here, the professional made the most of the limits of the Duratex panel, which also gained boiserie details on some walls. In the living room, for example, the work by artist Marcelo Catalano was made especially for the space, adapting to the exact measurements of the central boiserie: the set of 36 paintings in acrylic boxes of various colors was named Apollinaire, in reference to the French art critic and poet, who became known for writing important manifestos for the artistic avant-garde in France.
“
Duratex’s Florida Walnut combines with the use of dark reds, oranges and a palette of light pinks,” says Paola. So much so that these colors appear in a variety of fabrics and in the mix of new and old objects, many from the designer’s own collection, which are spread throughout the loft. In the living room, it is also worth highlighting the shelves that hug the sofa, lower than usual, which store books and souvenirs at eye level.
Still in the social area, the kitchen gains originality with the wine cellar on the upper level and the bar built into the island.
On the backsplash, the marbled surface is, in fact, Calacata Gold from the new Duratex You pattern line, which features exclusive digital printing technology. This panel is made of Ultra Premium MDF, which offers superior resistance to humidity and occasional wetting, and has the antibacterial and antiviral protection of Protekto Plus, which creates a barrier that combats the proliferation of microorganisms. In the
private area , consisting of a bedroom, closet and bathroom, the ceiling was lowered to provide more intimacy: here,
Nogueira Flórida created frames in the ceiling filled with fabric and diffused lighting , creating a cozy atmosphere. The bed was designed by Paola especially for the space and the lighting project is by Maneco Quinderé.
The completely transparent
closet allows a 360º view of the inside of the closet, which, with LED lights, becomes even more interesting, creating a space to reveal and innovate the act of getting dressed.
For the interior lining, the Bolero pattern from Duratex was chosen .
Finally, the
office area has as its backdrop the external landscaping designed by
Alex Hanazaki, composed of tall jabuticaba trees. To complement the nature,
the work desk is made in Duratex's Forest Green pattern .
“For Duratex, being at CASACOR São Paulo is a very special moment, because through the show and its professionals, we impact the interior decoration segment with exclusive readings and approaches to our products, generating new ideas and applications", says
Renata Braga , marketing and products manager at Duratex.
