Fernanda Moreira Lima 's first participation at
CASACOR São Paulo brings together a series of inspirations from great names in the history of design, such as Lina Bo Bardi. Initially trained in visual arts, Fernanda's passion for the arts overflowed in this space, designed to accommodate all members of a family.
Designed as a shelter of tranquility, the Family Home Office took advantage of the curved ceiling of the Jockey Club itself to insert references to Oscar Niemeyer, receiving a burnt cement texture that resembles the concrete shells used by the architect. The main table was designed by the architect especially for the space, with an undefined shape and all curved edges.
The decor brings together great masters of national design: Geraldo de Barros and Sérgio Rodrigues chairs, Zanini armchair, Jader Almeida side tables and Marcus Ferreira sofa. The luminaires also come from national studios, giving necessary appreciation to Brazilian design.
The sideboard is one of the great highlights of the space, serving the double function of supporting the sofa and sheltering the tensioned screen, creating the illusion of a window with natural light. The side tables, semi-fitted into their structure, are light and can be easily moved. Fernanda decided not to have a single point of light on the ceiling, inspired by Lina Bo Bardi and her famous Casa de Vidro, in which the only point of light is the kitchen pendant. So he designed the lighting in a completely indirect way.
The sculpture suspended in the stairwell is designed by the German kinetic artist Knopp Ferro, which propagates a wave on a vibrating metal rod, through which the kinetic force is transmitted from one suspended element to the other. The space also features a sketch of Niemeyer's first ideas for the Curitiba Art Museum, and the work of Cristiane Mohallem, a large tree made in line on linen.
The architect studied to balance warm and cold tones to create a feeling of welcome and tranquility, thus giving a playful perception to the work space, also avoiding excess colors that could be a distraction.
