CASACOR São Paulo , the main event of the most complete exhibition of architecture, landscaping, art and interior design in the Americas, begins this Tuesday, May 30th, and continues until August 6th , at Conjunto Nacional, with the theme Corpo & Morada . The proposal of the 36th edition is to bring new readings and approaches to address major issues of our time such as inclusion, diversity and sustainability. The professionals in the 2023 cast present projects in reference to the skin we live in, in addition to that of our bodies, that of our home and that of the planet. This year, the exhibition is in an expanded space, with more than 11 thousand m² of built area , and occupies the mezzanine and open terrace of the building, with a completely new configuration for visitors, who will be able to get to know the architecture even more closely. of the iconic building, along the circuit with 74 rooms . The implementation will surprise by housing 22 studios and lofts , 11 houses , 14 gardens , squares and wellness islands , 6 restaurant, bar and café operations, 5 unisex bathrooms with family space, 6 stores and commercial operations, in addition to 2 functional environments (ticket office/hat shop and lounge), and 5 areas for exhibitions and artistic installations , in addition to varied spaces. Check out all the environments below!
2023 arrives as a turning point for CASACOR. We are growing, exploring new territories, increasingly entering the world of arts and thriving in business. More than a consolidated exhibition, we want to be a space for permanence, celebration and connection, but without ever forgetting who we are, nor leaving aside our DNA and mission of creating immersive, and why not unforgettable, experiences every year in the architecture and decoration segment. . Dialogues are transformed, new links are created, but the essence of what we have been doing for 36 years is what will continue to guide us always ", says André Secchin , General Director of CASACOR. He points out that this year's event comes to consolidate the platform's position in the segment and highlights the three decades of partnership with Deca, Master Sponsor of CASACOR , as one of the greatest examples of symbiosis in the market. He also talks about the launch of an unprecedented partnership with Banco BRB, the show's official bank , which presents the BRB CASACOR card. “ One of the great moments of CASACOR 2023 is the celebration of 30 years of our union with Deca, together, the two brands are protagonists of a creative and innovative experience, which results in a laboratory for product development and application of trends like never before seen before. Additionally, this year we launched a new partnership with Banco BRB, with the creation of the BRB CASACOR card, with which visitors and customers of BRB bank will have exclusive benefits ”, announces Secchin .

Body & Address

CASACOR curators, Livia Pedreira, Pedro Ariel Santana and Cris Ferraz , supported by trend research, defined the concept of the year summarized in the theme Corpo & Morada . From there, they invited artists, architects, interior designers and landscapers to create installations and environments that promoted reflections and experiences for the visitor throughout the exhibition. “ We can do many readings of this year's theme, which represents a moment of care and attention in different spheres. When we talk about the planet as a home we have the concept of the body of nature , which is very alive and present throughout CASACOR. One of the highlights is the Forest Bath , which everyone will see in the work of botanist and landscaper, Ricardo Cardim , who, alongside architect Alessandra Cardim , seeks the rescue and regeneration of native Brazilian species to compose two installations, using the exuberant vegetation of the Atlantic Forest ”, says Livia Pedreira, curator at CASACOR .

In addition to biophilia and the relationship between human beings and nature – which gain space in environments such as the Peruvian architect and landscaper, Augusta Pastor and Santiago Roose , when proposing a reflection on a new plantopocene and phytocentric horizon, other concepts worked on in the exhibition include the ancestral body , present in the installation by artist Daniel Jorge. A wanderer who traveled the world, he immersed himself in peripheral architecture and African geometric patterns in Benin and Nigeria, translating his experience into a sculpture-monument. The visitor will also find the corporal memory , with the saga of Lampião and Maria Bonita , which is revisited in the panel designed by surface designer Jade Marangolo, in partnership with architect Gleuse Ferreira , the couple's great-granddaughter. The dream body will be represented by light and its poetics, the theme of the installation by one of the most renowned light designers in the country, architect Guinter Parschalk .

CASACOR São Paulo also shows the social body , with dense cities, inequalities scream for attention and a new perspective. This is the journey designed by young architect and urban activist Ester Carro . The resident of the Jardim Colombo community shows with her project - a 34 m² studio - how it is possible to plan a dignified and sustainable home for low-income families. The concept of all bodies , one of the most important today, is also present and universal design governs the proposal of a studio created by the trio ArqTab and Maycon Fogliene . Casa do Ser proposes housing that adapts to the different stages of people's lives and needs, from childhood to old age. In addition to being completely adapted to meet the changes that arise throughout life, the housing serves people with permanent or temporary disabilities, such as low mobility, wheelchairs, quadriplegia, people of short stature, fat people. The house is complete and 100% connected, in addition to being suitable for accessibility standards.

The artistic installations along the route also add to the aura of art, with murals, panels, sculptures and lights. One of the highlights of the edition is Percusus , an installation that explores the correlation between the work of artist Regina Silveira and architect and designer Guilherme Torres.

Accessibility

(Amanda Bibiano/CASACOR)

Since 2016, CASACOR São Paulo has been a 100% accessible event for people with reduced mobility. This is the result of continuous work that began in the 2005 edition, when the first adjustments were made to the circulation areas to comply with federal decree no. 5,296, of 2004, which determined the gradual adoption of accessibility measures in buildings for public use. In 2006, CASACOR established a partnership with the Special Secretariat for Persons with Disabilities and Reduced Mobility (Seped) with the aim of presenting the concepts and technical standards related to the topic to the cast's professionals. That same year, for the first time, the Permanent Accessibility Committee (CPA) previously analyzed all the exhibition's projects and proposed the necessary adaptations, a fact that would be repeated in subsequent editions.

The awareness and support of architects, interior designers and landscapers, combined with constant monitoring by the event management, has allowed CASACOR to evolve to its current stage, in which accessibility is naturally incorporated into the environments, which makes the exhibition a fluid and comfortable experience for everyone. This year, the event is in partnership with architect Silvana Cambiaghi, from Design Universal Consultoria, and adopts a new measure to assist those with mobility difficulties: all bathrooms have accessible stalls, in addition to being unisex and having a family space . There are also a series of amenities aimed at the visually and hearing impaired, such as a tactile map in Braille, tactile floor routes, a real-time Libra translation application - developed by the Association of Metroway Friends of the Disabled - and specially prepared guided tours.

Sustainability and Social Impact

A fundamental part of CASACOR's DNA, sustainability continues to be not only the biggest trend in the segment, but the driving force of the entire exhibition, which has reached surprising levels with its waste management program. Implemented in 2016, the program went through several stages, which included raising awareness among work teams and architects, to reach the mark of 99.7% waste reuse. This year's goal is to achieve 100% . In addition to adopting measures such as dry works, saving and reusing water resources, energy savings, selective collection, a recycling program and an adequate disposal for waste promoting the circular economy, the exhibition also makes donations of construction materials resulting from the dismantling of the event to NGOs. In this edition, CASACOR São Paulo will compensate 100% for its carbon emissions, as in the previous two years , in addition to having Zero Waste certification. The exhibition also promotes social impact actions that begin with the sale of tickets for the avant-première in partnership with Diversa, Arte e Cultura (DAC) , a social organization focused on promoting human diversity and which supports projects and events of a cultural, artistic and social. The DAC will receive 100% of the amounts raised in the action. To continue supporting Fazendinhando 's actions, CASACOR São Paulo will donate R$1.00 to the NGO for each ticket sold at this year's exhibition.
