Beto Figueiredo and Luiz Eduardo Almeida – Deca Bathroom. Portuguese tiles, marble bathtub that would have belonged to Empress Teresa Cristina, reserved areas. The main bathroom became more relaxed with contemporary interferences and a large tree planted right in the center of the space. Surrounded by a sink developed by the architects and built by Deca, the jabuticabeira brings nature into the room and plays with the cycle of life, as the water – which appears to come from the trunk – is also reused for irrigation. In the main bathroom of the house , an environment to match. Called Deca Bathroom , the project by Beto Figueiredo and Luiz Eduardo Almeida for CASACOR Rio 2021 uses the original arches, Portuguese tiles and colorful stained glass windows, which overlook the external gardens , to create a private bathroom, which holds stories from other times.
As soon as you enter the bathroom, your eye is drawn to a surprising item: a jabuticaba tree , which takes center stage in the room. The element makes an analogy to the cycle of life , in addition to bringing nature inside. The tree also guides the colors of the rest of the decoration, which followed different shades of green .
Among the contemporary interventions in the space is the sink developed around the roots of the tree . Designed by the architect duo and executed by Deca , the piece – with an external circumference of 1.5 meters – features two taps positioned so that it appears that the trunk is the source of water . Furthermore, the same water used to wash hands is reused to irrigate the tree – one of the many sustainable alternatives offered by CASACOR Rio .
The Carrara marble bathtub , which would have belonged to Empress Teresa Cristina, creates a relaxation area reserved by the large arches. The highlight here is the black piping , which forms a design across the entire wall. In it, the pressure records received keywords, such as balance, resilience and tolerance , with the intention of awakening good energy, in addition to provoking: in 2021, what do you want a bath of?
The high ceiling also houses the shower and toilet, which is made more private with the dark green linen curtain. Set around books, the space also features a beautiful photograph of a natural forest. Throughout the project, technology and tradition coexist side by side , creating a bathroom that goes beyond the limits of time.
