Having completed three decades,
CASACOR Rio Grande do Sul holds one of its most emblematic editions this year –
from August 6th to October 2nd – by taking the event to the historic headquarters of the
Pia Chaves Barcellos Institution (Rua Dona Leonor, 360) , built in 1923, in Porto Alegre. The event opens its doors in a total area of 3,500 m²
, presenting the main trends in architecture, design and landscaping in
40 environments designed by a cast of
70 professionals . Located on a plot of land high up in the Rio Branco neighborhood and with a privileged view of the capital, the building houses environments that bring diverse themes in spaces such as
suites ,
studios ,
living rooms ,
bedrooms and
complete apartments . In addition, the exhibition has
outdoor areas , a
café and a
restaurant and
wine bar to serve visitors. Check out all the projects in the gallery below!
Chaves Barcellos Sink
Built in 1923, the historic building chosen to host the event had the objective of
welcoming and educating orphaned and needy girls , and remained in operation through the Association of Franciscan Sisters until 2005. Conceived by Mrs. Ilza Chaves Barcellos and her brothers-in-law, the The building is a
true monument in honor of her husband , Pedro, who was known in Porto Alegre society for his benevolence, assisting several pious institutions such as the Santa Casa de Misericórdia and the Pão dos Pobres.

As Ilza and Pedro did not have children, the couple dedicated themselves tirelessly to helping needy children, supporting and sustaining the actions of congregations focused on education, such as the Franciscan Sisters. The plan for the future of the building is to house the Pampeano School, following the destiny enshrined by Dona Ilza and the Barcellos brothers: that the building
will have education as its eternal vocation . The project will start with a
major restoration and revitalization work. led by
Studio1 Arquitetura .
