José Ribeiro - Casa Jóya. Designed for light and informal living where the integration of spaces brings fluidity and freedom, the house features neutral colors punctuated by green and earthy colors that appear in the natural and soft textures of furniture from different eras and styles. In the entrance hall, an old family piece of furniture welcomes you and awakens fond memories. In the kitchen, an intense and welcoming terracotta adds personality and encourages conviviality. Shades of green and beige make up the master suite with lightness and the terrace with SPA enhances leisure surrounded by greenery.(Darci Bastos/)
/34 - Vértice Arquitetura e Urbanismo - Facade and Lobby "Piauí and its roots". The project's goal is to rescue simplicity. The use of materials in their original form, elements of Brazilian architecture - such as cobogó and local stones - and the connection with nature make up the space. Piauí and its roots are addressed in five themes that represent the traditions, culture, folklore and customs of the northeast. (Darci Bastos)
/34 - Marina Campanhã - Boqueirão. “The Boqueirão pool garden represents our essence and ancestry. With a curved design sculpted and shaped by water and wind, as well as the rock formations of Serra da Capivara, it connects past, present and future”, says the professional. The natural pool with a mixed structure breaks with the conventional with a beach edge, creating a timeline from 70 million years ago - when the backlands were once covered by the sea - to the present day, with contemporary construction methods. The curved gazebo between brises represents the dry forest of the caatinga and the curves of the rocks of Serra da Capivara National Park. A carnaubal tree embraces the space. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - Josélia Carvalho Paisagismo and Godoy Arquitetos - Praça Dois Rios. The majestic palm trees that were retained from the house's original garden are silent guardians, witnesses of the past and watchmen of the present. Around them, the sinuous sheet of water, divided into two levels, evokes the flows of the ancestral rivers of Piauí: the Poti and the Parnaíba. The lounges offer refuge from the hustle and bustle, inviting you to peacefully contemplate the vegetation made up of tropical plants and native species. The selected furniture is a celebration of comfort and functionality, encouraging visitors to settle in and indulge in the pleasure of company and relaxed conversation. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - Rafael Rodrigues - Balcony. This balcony conveys freedom. It is where the walls open up to welcome not only nature, but also the intertwined narratives of past and present generations. It is a space that invites contemplation and the exchange of experiences, where time seems to slow down to make room for genuine coexistence and the warm welcome typical of Brazilians. Each piece tells a story, transmitting precious lessons that span generations and represent the value of local art and crafts. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - Willane Soares - Toca das Oncinhas Toy Library. With principles of Neuroarchitecture, the 24 m² area, previously underused in the house, was transformed into a welcoming space, designed for children to reconnect with their roots and play in an analogue way. The old staircase was transformed into a large sandbox, which allows countless activities and is covered by a net for contemplation and reading, similar to a den, affectionately named Toca das Oncinhas - the name refers to one of Piauí's Archaeological Parks, where the inspiration for the earthy tones and cave paintings came from. (Esdras Guimarães)
/34 - Mauro Lopes + Gualberto Júnior Arquitetura - Home Theater and Wine Cellar. “To create this environment, we looked for references in our own memories. Elements loaded with emotional memories make up the space, sharing the spotlight with a palette of sunny colors that represent our location,” the professionals explain. Piauí is represented in a sunny way, full of energy and vitality, with its striking cultural traits. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - Vangii Guerra - Living Bontempo. Designed to be a space for connecting with family and friends, the space invites users to disconnect from the virtual world, valuing coexistence and affection, and also to contemplate works of art and reading. With 75 m², the project has a contemporary and intimate atmosphere with walls covered in organic wood veneer panels, which warm the environment and contrast with the green alpi marble. In terms of furniture, pieces designed by Sergio Rodrigues, Giacomo Tomazzi and Felipe Protti mix with furniture designed by the architect. Spot lighting provides comfort and a scenic effect. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - Aline Brandão and Jacinta Lira - Office - a tribute to Joaquim Costa. This environment is a tribute to the industrialist Joaquim Costa, recognized by Cerâmica Mafrense, a large producer of tiles, bricks and clay blocks. A man who loves traveling with his family, who dedicates himself to charitable works, but also a simple person, who values nature, his roots and has a lot of faith. The space brings together comfort, quality in finishes and furniture, design, books, works of art, religiosity and regional elements, with emphasis on the garden that works as an extension of the office, for the tapestry work developed by his daughter - the artist Daniela Chaves-, and for wall art executed with pieces produced with her own ceramics. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - YK Arquitetura - Oasis Lavatory. A place of peace and inspiration, the lavatory contains natural elements such as stone, plants and wood, bringing a sense of balance and freshness. In 7.28 m², two rounded countertop sinks were fixed to the curved wall, and there is also an indoor garden, niches for art objects and a chair for reading. The intimate lighting makes the space welcoming without losing functionality. (Esdras Guimarães)
/34 - Roberto Freitas and Márcia Pires - Poetic Fragments. Paying homage to the tropicalist Torquato Neto, Casa Almendra Arquitetura brought an authorial look full of emotion at the cultural heritage left by the artist. The poet's face was sculpted in the house's original plaster, transforming the double-height ceiling into a huge deconstructed canvas. The original staircase covered in a red metal sheet takes center stage, in addition to connecting spaces. The asymmetrical pagination of the floor made of natural stone refers to Torquato's book that gives the space its name: Poetic Fragments. (Darci Bastos)
/34 - Ana Márcia Moura, Juliana Soares and Suzana Costa - Estar Íntimo. An intimate encounter between colonizer and colonized. The immersive space pays homage to the cultural and historical richness of Piauí and was inspired by the work “Carnaúba, Pedra e Barro”, by architect and researcher from Piauí Olavo Pereira da Silva, who recorded colonial architecture, and by the work that artist Gabriel Archanjo did to the film “Esperança Garcia”, recording black people in fabric scarves. Works by Piauí artists Gabriel Arcanjo, Áureo Júnior, Júnior Brandão, Júlio de Paiva, Fátima Campos, Teresa do Carmo, Fátima Pereira da Silva, Fernando and Eduardo, as well as Associação Grota, make up the space. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - Carlos Bruno Andrade and Davi Bandeira - Barro Ticket Office. The exposed bricks, in tones that echo the colors of the local land, pay homage to the essential raw material of regional art. In the heart of the space, a tree is surrounded by a sofa and a curved wall, symbolizing the permanence of nature in relation to ephemeral human constructions, and creating a space of worship and respect for nature. The connection with nature and regionalism is manifested through two distinct pieces of art: a panel of cave paintings and a work that refers to the graceful flight of the scarlet ibis, a phenomenon in which the red birds fly in a flock. (Darci Bastos)
/34 - Mariana Segnini and Isadora Segnini - Circulation. The concept for the space arose from the idea of transmitting sensory experiences inspired by the four seasons of the year (spring, summer, autumn and winter), without neglecting the necessary functionality. The monochrome of each seasonal stripe is reinforced by elements that harmonize and invite lingering. Located in the intimate part of the house, the project sought to reconcile the two concerns. The functional part includes the linen closet, pantry, a place to display special objects and a reading corner. The other, a different sensation with colors and emotions in the choice of coverings, furniture and objects. The illuminated curtain on the panel attracts the eye due to its fluidity, giving the sensation of openness to the outside. The idea is to show that it is possible to transform a space where little time is spent into a cozy environment. (Esdras Guimarães)
/34 - Forma Arquitetura - Baby's Room. In the twins' spacious room, maximalism is the main focus and every square meter is filled with an explosion of colors, vibrant prints and a bold mix of elements. The bedroom has a playful and stimulating atmosphere, while the unusual combination of colors sparks the imagination. The cozy lighting, carefully distributed through lamps in strategic points, creates a welcoming atmosphere that invites relaxation and tranquility. Each piece of decoration was selected to highlight the talent of local artists. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - Santiago Arquitetura e Design - Abai Suite, our heritage! Created by Manuela Santiago, architect and urban planner, and Izabela Santiago, interior designer, the space is inspired by the cultural heritage of Bahia and the elegance of a boutique hotel. The neutral and light tones, together with the organic shapes that recall the canyons of the São Francisco, give the space an aura of serenity and natural beauty. Each detail was carefully selected to reflect the personality of the couple who live there: he, laid-back and passionate about poetry; she, beautiful, elegant and a lover of fashion and makeup. In the center of the room, the initials of the children, Arthur, Bernardo Alice, and Isadora, represent symbols of heritage and ancestry. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - Vânia Sousa Arquitetura - Cyclist's Suite. With 32 m², the project captures the dynamic and vibrant essence of a young cycling enthusiast. Inspired by the energy and passion for cycling, the room reflects the personality and interests of the athlete in modern colors such as black and gray, as well as vibrant tones. More than a bedroom, it is a cozy and functional refuge, designed for comfort and inspiration. Each element of the design was selected to create harmony and stimulation. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - Dantas Napoleão Arquitetura e Interiores - Suite for the artist daughter. "The project is the expression of what we believe in: feeling, memory, art, creativity. Something outside the box with coherence, meaning and beauty", says the office. The curation of the paintings, objects and furniture values local artists and, in this way, reflects the office's love for art, a living spirit that inhabits all projects, ideas, products and solutions. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - Renata Santos - μερακι Kitchen. Meraki in Greek means to put part of yourself into something. The meaning reflects the concept of the project, which is manifested in coexistence and good living. A setting that fulfills its primary function and explores new uses, new configurations in a confluence of Piauí art, technology, organic lines and textures with a rustic touch. The kitchen's main island is an element that brings originality to the project, with its open layout and fluid circulation. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - Eduardo Avelino - Fitness Studio. Designed within a post-pandemic context, taking into account the new demands regarding self-care, health and well-being, this studio was designed so that visitors could experience an environment that aligns physical activity with a relaxing environment. The use of a few multifunctional pieces of equipment was essential in the design of the gym, which has acoustic coverings, anti-impact flooring and appliances. The environment is also integrated with the outdoor area, a space with a garden that helps provide well-being during physical activity. (Esdras Guimarães)
/34 - Terra Crua Arquitetura - Ceramist's Studio - Tribute to Girleide Maria de Oliveira. The space's main guidelines are regionality and sustainability. Seeking to value ancestral knowledge, the project presents local crafts and the essence of the backlands of the Serra da Capivara region. The space was designed to stimulate creativity through light colors that evoke earth tones, clay and natural elements, connecting the ceramist to the arid nature, which transmits strength through the metamorphosis of its dry branches that bloom with the arrival of rain. The organic nature of nature's forms is also present in the ceramic pieces. (Victor Eleutério)
/34 - Aloísio Evangelista - Circulation As a Gift, The Now. “Connections” is the word that best defines the proposal of this space. “Physically”, it connects the internal area of the house with the event plaza through a ramp, which passes through a garden of colors punctuated by vegetation and lighting with light and shadow effects. An atmosphere is created for an experience of “connection to the now”, in a hallway transformed into a library, with an internal garden and a hammock as a sculpture, representing the indispensable item in every home in Piauí. The space pays homage to the artist from Piauí, Hudson Melo, with three important works, which begin in a collective movement, to receive “As a gift, the now”, in its moment of “connection with oneself”, between the resident and his great love, his pet. (Esdras Guimarães)
/34 - Lavínia Brandão and Carolina Martins - Café. The proposal has a contemporary feel with roots from Piauí. The café is the result of a combination of architecture with pieces by regional artists: elements of culture, art and flora are used on the walls, lighting and decoration. With large spaces, preserving the house's original red ceramic roof, buriti palm stem lining, wooden paneling and vibrant colors, the project has a living area, balcony, open space and waiting area. (Victor Eleutério)
/34 - Jeose Noronha Monte - Temporal Square. In a partnership between J.Monte and Premium J.Monte, the futuristic space features an exhibition of children's paintings and an inclusive structure. A bold sculpture houses time capsules in a space where visitors will be invited to record messages for future generations, save memories and inspire the future. The structure will be kept for 10 years at the Sesc Cajuína headquarters. The location also has a modern sound and video structure, which will tell the stories of renowned professionals in Piauí architecture. (Darci Bastos)
/34 - Denise Almeida - Cinco Sentidos Restaurant. In a sensorial atmosphere, the restaurant features curved lines throughout its design. Rich in textures and natural elements, the entrance hall features clay, a distinctive typology of Piauí craftsmanship. The handcrafted floor has footprints that simulate the walking of everyone involved in the execution of the project. A panel of ACM cut into the ceiling references Piauí embroidery and the sankofa, an African symbol that represents a return to the past in search of wisdom. In a single art installation, with 96 10x10 cm pieces, the five senses were represented. (Victor Eleutério)
/34 - Lorena Fortes - Sensory Washrooms. The purpose of the washrooms is to explore the senses of those who visit the space: through smell, music, colors and textures, different sensations will be awakened. The space is open to the garden and fully integrated with nature - there is wood, crafts, earthy colors and natural elements such as straw, clay and macramé. The functional design meets the use of a public washroom and, at the same time, invites the public to a moment of introspection, reflection and connection between visitors to the space. (Victor Eleutério)
/34 - João Almeida and Gustavo Almeida - DECA agroforestry. The project is a landmark of innovation and sustainability that extends over an area of 700 m², with 150 m² of structures covered with traditional carnauba straw. The pavilion's biomimetic design consists of four distinct roofs that intertwine harmoniously, reminiscent of the treetops of a dense forest. The edible garden features native species, fruit trees, grains, vegetables and ornamental plants, reflecting the diversity, design and sustainability of Deca products. Local crafts are also a highlight, with ancestral techniques that demonstrate the interaction between man and natural elements. (Victor Eleutério)
/34 - Alexandra Martins and Anelise Carvalho - Bossa B.arte. B.arte is a space where art, culture, design and haute cocktails meet. The project resonates soft melodies and renewal, presenting the spirit of bossa nova. Between cocktails and decoration, there is a space dedicated to nostalgic vinyl records. Natural materials, such as wood and stone, connect with glass and steel, creating a dialogue between traditional and contemporary. (Darci Bastos)
/34 - Tássia Carvalho - Casa do Artesão Design Mestre Albertino. The store, created in partnership with the State Government of Piauí, was designed so that the public has access to one of the state's greatest cultural riches: handicrafts. Only lithofine, produced locally from red ceramic, is used as a coating on the facade and floor. In the showcase, the drawing of Pedra Furada - an archaeological site located in São Raimundo Nonato - highlights the art of saints and the tapestry made from natural cattail fiber. Wood was used as a structure for the roof and display shelves. The side balcony was designed to place the traditional and much-loved hammocks, displayed here in the most diverse regional materials. (Esdras Guimarães)
/34 - Paulo Müller - GarArt Concept. The project revives the ancestral tradition of Ephemeral Architecture, recalling the time when nomads assembled and disassembled their shelters to transport them. Its design incorporates sustainable elements and techniques, with a predominant use of certified wood, rammed earth walls and recycled materials. In addition to the structure built with local materials, the space houses exhibitions of various types of art, created by amateur and established regional artists. In this space, the car transcends its utilitarian function and becomes a work of art. Straight and organic lines with playful elements appear from floor to ceiling and refer to the Northeastern backlands. (Victor Eleuterio)
/34 - João Almeida and Gustavo Almeida - Boa Vista Lounge. Based on sustainability, the project features a green façade that represents Construtora Boa Vista's commitment to the environment and to delivering high-quality projects. Each project proposes a dialogue between architecture and nature, ensuring that every detail contributes to the vision of a greener world. (Esdras Guimarães)
/34 - Maria Júlia Vaz Arquitetura - Espaço Sebrae: Weaving Identities. Subtle aromas of cashew nuts provoke sensations in the sense of smell, while textures invite the touch of the handcrafted pieces, which harmonize with the environment, representing the work of 19 production units in Piauí, eight of which were recognized in the Sebrae Top 100 Crafts Award. The space also hosts lectures and live workshops, offering an immersion into the world of local crafts and reinforcing the entity's role in promoting the competitiveness and sustainable development of small businesses and fostering entrepreneurship. (Darci Bastos)
/34 - Ianna Raposo - Jardim Hombuporu. The Abaporu painting, an iconic work by Tarsila do Amaral, gains a touch of Piauí when installed on a sculpture that represents Pedra Furada, an important archaeological site and cave paintings located in Serra da Capivara in the state's caatinga region. “We brought archaeological influences, passing through the symbol of the anthropophagic manifesto of the modernist movement in Brazil, to demonstrate, thus, the true influence of the cultural identity of our ancestors throughout our origins, passing through the present, the now, and moving towards a future”, summarizes the professional. (Darci Bastos)
/34 - Studior2 Ronaldo Veras - Varanda Gourmet Clube A Experience. “The gourmet balcony plays an important role today within the projects we carry out in our office as a meeting space to create moments with family and friends. We brought an experience of textures and materials that reflect the atmosphere we invest in our projects”, says the professional. The demolition floor, natural stones, designer furniture, fabrics and works of art form the composition of the space. The TV is accompanied by a wine bar with three hundred labels and a unique light. (Darci Bastos)
/34 - José Ribeiro - Casa Jóya. Designed for light and informal living where the integration of spaces provides fluidity and freedom, the house features neutral colors punctuated by green and earthy colors that appear in the natural and soft textures of the furniture from different periods and styles. In the entrance hall, an old family piece of furniture welcomes you and awakens fond memories. In the kitchen, an intense and welcoming terracotta adds personality and encourages conviviality. Shades of green and beige make up the master suite with lightness and the terrace with SPA enhances leisure surrounded by greenery. (Darci Bastos)
