Nostalgia. This is the feeling that some members of the cast of the 27th edition of CASACOR Paraná felt when they got involved in the preparations for the 2021 edition: this year, the show will be held between September 5 and October 17 in the premises of an old sports center which, although it has been closed for about 15 years, has marked the lives of many Curitiba residents who began swimming and exercising there. The structure of almost 6,000 m² of built area, including the four imposing swimming pools, is full of history and is where the public can seek inspiration and see how the Original House theme was interpreted in 39 environments designed by veteran professionals and new talents . Among Among them, there are three generous living areas, internal spaces that offer proposals for living and working, as well as a pleasant gastronomy area with a confectionery and café.
01/38 -
Alessandro Cavalcanti and Ricardo Makhoul - Estar Íntimo Duratex. Core, Core and Comfort. Based on these synonyms, the concept of this project was guided by the search for essences of comfort and the warmth of human relationships. The proposal presents solutions for coexistence, work and proximity between users. An environment rich in textures such as wood and fibers, which bring comfort and warmth.

02/38 -
Cynthia Karas - Resto Café. This contemporary space was designed to keep people safe. Elegant and with a garden feel, the restaurant follows a biophilic design, welcoming, cozy and reconnecting people with nature and other elements that make up the environment. Sensitivity, imagination and respect for nature are the basic ingredients that add value to this space, created for now and for when everything passes.
(Eduardo Macarios)
03/38 -
Daniela Cerbatto and Rafael Cerbatto - Jardim dos Chás. The space offers a moment of pause, calm and self-care. With organic aromas, textures and shapes, the space invites you to immerse yourself in the world of tea, with exclusive blends and accessories. The choice of materials combines stone, wood and velvet, as well as the blend of spices that make up a harmonious tea.

04/38 -
Denise Leal Ribas, Carolina Leal Ribas, Luana dos Santos Luciano and William Greboge - Living Las Condes Arauco. The project proposes a return to our origins, to our ancestral ties, to the appreciation of our own history and to what is essential and innate in this balance between past and future. The design of the space was based on versatility and brings together elements that represent the repertoire of our personal experiences.
(Eduardo Macarios)
05/38 -
Felipe Guerra - Pool Party. The space captures the essence of the original building and uses the pool as the central element of the composition. Designed to host all the events of this edition of the show, the space features a large island-shaped grandstand and complementary loose furniture. The scenographic proposal includes sculptures that recall elements from the world of water and special lighting.
(Eduardo Macarios)
06/38 -
Givago Ferentz - Stage of Life. In this scenario, the professional chose to represent the cyclical and evolutionary narrative of the trajectory of life, permeated by different perspectives, beliefs, ethnicities and sexuality. What life is like: a constant entry of new influences into our thoughts. All of this to bring a proposal for reflection on what we have in common and what unites us as a society: life.
(Eduardo Macarios)
07/38 -
Gustavo Scaramella - Office. An intimate space, created to inspire and stimulate creativity, to be surrounded by books, works of art, souvenirs and references. The focus of the project is the balanced union of styles that creates a casual, bold and elegant environment. On a sober base, the architect imprints his personality through prints, colors and textures.
(Eduardo Macarios)
08/38 -
Ismael Gustavo Zanardini and Thatiane Botto de Barros - STM Lounge. The multisensory installation promotes the public's connection with the DNA of Linked projects. It proposes the dramatization of space using simple materials and the narrative of “hiding x revealing”. A reactive environment in which lighting, projection and sound are used together to activate the architectural space and connect people.
(Eduardo Macarios)
09/38 -
Karol Venturini - The Home Store. To display the items for sale, shelves were designed to fit delicately into the irregular curves of the walls - the design of the space becomes even more organic with the textures of the coverings and the loose furniture. Highlighting the lighting that enhances the selection of products that combines several timeless design pieces
(Eduardo Macarios)
10/38 -
Nicolle Nogueira and Katherine Heim Weber - Rottas Prime Lounge. The definition of home goes beyond the composition of the spaces: it involves the sounds and scenes of everyday life, unique flavors, the touch of materials or a smell that fixes the mental address of your home. The proposal of this space is to transmit these same sensations and create a reconnection with the essence of what home represents to each person.
(Eduardo Macarios)
11/38 -
Kátia Herzog - Living Room by the Fireplace. In this luxurious space with a contemporary touch, the piano and the imposing fireplace are the highlights. Panels covering the walls, noble materials such as marble, tapestries and fabrics bring comfort and sophistication to the environment designed to enhance coexistence. Selected furniture and objects also define an atmosphere with plenty of amplitude, fluidity and, above all, a lot of elegance.
(Eduardo Macarios)
12/38 -
Alexandre Weiss and Nelson Machado - Living da Lareira. Conceived before the pandemic, the project was designed to bring people together, to welcome, to be casual and cozy. The concept continued and was perfectly usable for the current moment. Built inside a deactivated swimming pool, the space has 100 m² and can be adapted for indoor or outdoor areas, bringing nature through biophilic design.
(Eduardo Macarios)
13/38 -
Larissa Gomes - Intimate Living. This is an environment designed for all family members and offers several possibilities in a single space: home theater, playroom and reading corner. The open element allows for the division of the space into sectors, without hindering interaction in family life. In addition to being functional, the project draws attention to its contemporary aesthetic, marked by straight lines, neutral tones and a mix of textures.
(Eduardo Macarios)
14/38 -
Larissa Lóh - Relicário Suite. Warm colors and cozy materials create a room that celebrates affection and moments that are stored in our memories. Past, present and future come together and connect to our reliquary of memories. In the search for a life with more meaning, the project also features works of art, plants and natural coverings - elements that bear the marks of time and memories in their own nature.
(Eduardo Macarios)
15/38 -
Leonardo Tulli - Lounge Band Paraná. This project represents the connection with the environment and nature by exploring different levels of perception of human evolution. It is the result of the (mis)encounter of lines that form volumes and fill the space, making it unique and expanding the search for knowledge. In the palette, black and white contrast and complement each other at the same time. Scattered plants bring green to the composition.
(Eduardo Macarios)
16/38 -
Luana Vansin - Home and Dining Links. In today's world, living and dining areas have become spaces for bonding, a refuge amidst the chaos. This project symbolizes the escape point from the outside. A world reflected in the deep meaning of colors, in the links between the eternal and the new, in the subtext of architectural typologies, artists, textures, materiality and the intensity of the warmth of being together again.
(Eduardo Macarios)
17/38 -
Luciana Gibaile - Decompression Room. Since the space is located inside a swimming pool, the project also had an unusual touch: the intention here is to offer something new that brings reflections on the social, emotional and physical importance of places of this nature for well-being at work. Brazilianness is highlighted as a way of representing our origins and creating deeper bonds with the space around us.
(Eduardo Macarios)
18/38 -
Luiz Maingué - Studio Tech SEBRAE. Presented by Sebrae Paraná, the exclusive 40 m² apartment offers technological and sustainable solutions for construction and new living. The concept points to a more efficient, connected and comfortable future, where visitors interact with cutting-edge technology and high-performance materials. Intimate shades of gray and caramel provide a warm and very contemporary atmosphere.
(Eduardo Macarios)
19/38 -
Marcelo Lopes - Loft Deca. The current moment leads us to value the primordial, the essential and the concept of new living. This versatile and multifunctional space is a place of respite and shelter amidst the turbulence of our time. The professional explored materiality, lightness and sobriety, without leaving aside the comfort and quality of good architecture and good design. Sober and neutral tones mark the decoration of all the rooms.
(Eduardo Macarios)
20/38 -
Mariana Paula Souza - Criare Gourmet Barbecue. The spacious and integrated space was designed as a space for family gatherings, entertaining and gathering people, and features a gourmet barbecue with functional space and a TV room. With the aim of using biophilic design, the project makes extensive use of plants and natural elements, such as wood and straw panels. The main ingredient is versatility.
(Eduardo Macarios)
21/38 -
Ninha Chiozzini - Forma Legno Urban Refuge. In this versatile space, designed as a place to reflect, renew strength and reconnect, well-being and comfort coincide with discreet luxury. The colors and materials selected combine simplicity, elegance and sophistication. The natural contact of wood and greenery combines with design and technology to create an environment of serenity and comfort.
(Eduardo Macarios)
22/38 -
Mery Barone, Paloma Albuquerque and Luciana Oliveira Wosch - Lavabos Habitat. This project aims to expose issues that need attention, such as deforestation and fires that result in the extinction of animals, and bees, which are so important for pollination. In the hall, nature appears in the vertical garden, in beehive-shaped elements and in the design that represents the bee that carries the world on its back.
(Eduardo Macarios)
23/38 -
André Henning - Cafeteria. Appearing as an urban insertion in the middle of the square, the project engages with the public passing by, providing a break. Through orthogonal shapes and the use of materials such as exposed concrete slabs, black metal, LED profiles and visual communication panels, the space seeks to express the features of the contemporary city, creating an Instagrammable space.
(Eduardo Macarios)
24/38 -
Daniela Lopes Niederauer and Roberta Pfeiffer Jiraschek - The Backyard & Art. The backyard has regained its importance and space: used as a place for fun, rest, meditation and even learning and work, it reappears as a space for coexistence with nature, art and sensory experiences. The open metal structure represents the flexibility of the house and the landscaping creates a composition between art, architecture and landscaping.
(Eduardo Macarios)
25/38 -
Rodolpho Gutierrez - Concierge. The challenge of the CASACOR Paraná Ticket Office is to be an original and functional project at the same time. The Brazilian touch is evident in the colors that cover the walls and floor and in the textures of the coverings. Since Brazil is named after a tree, wood could not be left out of the space and appears here in different pieces of furniture and works of art. The pieces were created specifically for the space.
(Eduardo Macarios)
26/38 -
Juliana Gabardo and Sheila Cunha de Jesus - Boudoir da Mulher. The dressing room reconnects the past with the present, bringing comfort and functionality. With automation technology, organization solutions and high-quality finishes, the project brings the luxury and exclusivity of a unique and fully personalized space. The lighting and mirrors enhance the experience of getting dressed.
(Eduardo Macarios)
27/38 -
Thiago Zoller - The Garden. The space was designed with the aim of creating unique experiences and sensations for its users: it is a garden full of personality, formed by a variety of arid, exotic and tropical plants. At the heart of the space is a 250-year-old olive tree, full of history. The project proposes that visitors increasingly reconnect with their roots and the beauty of the nature around them.
(Eduardo Macarios)
28/38 -
Viviane Busch - Reveev's Bedroom. The bedroom is a place to recharge the body and mind. The sensory experience of the space offers calm, tranquility and sophistication, through colors, textures and even smells. The space was divided into an office, rest, meditation and closet area, translating a lot of versatility and originality. Highlight the cozy lighting.
(Eduardo Macarios)
29/38 -
Viviane Tabalipa - VIP Lounge. Here used to be an old swimming pool, which allowed a view of its entire length from above. Now, it houses a space full of handcrafted elements and textures related to affective memories, which makes us connect with our roots. The highlight of the project are the natural fiber structures, like small hollows that become private, intimate and cozy lounges.
(Eduardo Macarios)
30/38 -
Wolfgang Schlogel - Alameda and Praça CASACOR. The space presents an artistic intervention that combines exotic vegetation and audiovisual performance in a unique concept to illustrate a technological catwalk. The project offers a sensory experience that provides emotions that inspire people to enjoy the true meaning of each moment in life.
(Eduardo Macarios)
31/38 -
Alessandra Ramos and Renato Sabadin - 8 Authorial Jewelry. To showcase the work of creating jewelry by artists from Paraná, the duo created a space that reflects the art of human life and the ways to highlight its beauty. Directed lighting highlights the pieces on display, while openwork wood, indirect lighting and green walls create a fresh and cozy atmosphere for customers and visitors.
(Eduardo Macarios)
32/38 -
Yara Mendes and Ana Claudia Marini - Aroma Store. A fragrance store should transport its visitors to a place of good feelings. The use of marble, wood and pink tones bring elegance and delicacy. The sofa with an organic design invites visitors to move around the store and allows for moments of contemplation. The result is an environment that creates emotion, comfort and also elegantly displays the products for sale.

33/38 -
Ary Polis Jacobs, Bianca Moraes and Renan Mutao - Loft with Balcony. Celebrating Brazilianness, local designers and artists, and promoting connections was the motto for the conception of this project. The absence of barriers that delimited the spaces privileged coexistence, promoting the multiple use of spaces. The garden, located in the heart of the loft, provides a respite that invites you to take a break, relax and connect with nature.
(Eduardo Macarios)
34/38 -
Arthur Calliari - Gin Bar and Toilette Social. This space was designed for that person who, at the end of their day, enjoys relaxing with a drink or a glass of wine. Embrace the comfort of the dim light in a moment of transition between everyday life and the comfort of your home. Indirect lighting gains strength with dark-toned materials - such as stone countertops and black curtains. The bookshelf in the background creates spots of color.
(Eduardo Macarios)
35/38 -
Bruno Bressan - Living and Bathrooms for Him and Her. Minimalist and timeless, the space offers versatility, functionality and practicality. Neutral colors and bases create a striking visual identity. The ethnic presence in the furniture and works of art shows the personality and the transition of time. The furniture softens and frames the entire concept of the project, enhanced by the texture of the walls.
(Eduardo Macarios)
36/38 -
Carlos Tietjen - Meeting Point Divisystem. The contemporary setting brings back a comfortable atmosphere for occasional meetings, highlighting the use of technological coverings – a unique point for defining the space in terms of visual and acoustic perception. The staircase occupies a prominent place, as do the art pieces, especially produced for this space. Note the painting on the wall.
(Eduardo Macarios)
37/38 -
Christian Schonhofen and Richard Schonhofen - Living Pormade. A place for long conversations, the living room is the stage for important events in a family's life. The large, tall and very well-lit space allows for a mix of functions, resulting in an imposing, luxurious, comfortable and welcoming environment. Rugs and furniture were designed especially for the project and the space brings together objects signed by artists and artisans from various parts of the country.
(Eduardo Macarios)
38/38 -
Claudia Pimentel Bueno and Raísa Bueno Ribeiro - Gourmet Raízes EVVIVA. The sectors are arranged in a circular fashion, around the large central tree: living room, gourmet/wine cellar and home office - which represents the cycle of life. The vernacular immersion atmosphere represents the balance between architecture and nature in a symbiosis that blends natural elements, technology, minimalism, timelessness and contemporaneity.

Affective memories
Architect Juliana Gabardo , who debuts this year at CASACOR as one of those responsible for the Boudoir da Mulher project, says that, in 2008, she started practicing bodybuilding and swimming, an activity that she had the company of her daughter, at the time she started triathlon practice. “I was struck by the large mezzanine area overlooking the pools right after the entrance. There, I used to watch my daughter’s classes and observe the children’s water aerobics classes,” he recalls. Architect Ary Alberto Jacobs , from Studio Architetonika Nomad, one of the people responsible for creating the Loft with Balcony , frequented the sports center between 1997 and 1998 and remembers it being a bright place, with large pools and lots of space. “Everything is very spacious and when you look from the street, the size of the property is deceiving. Once inside, it reveals itself in many spacious rooms”, he explains.
Current and future trends
Architectural trends are dictating a comfortable and practical path to be followed in Brazilian homes and even in the workplace. All projects seek harmony between comfort and contemporaneity in order to create ideal spaces for rest, disconnection with the world and physical and mental health.
1) Earth and green: many professionals opt for neutral and earthy tones to avoid overloading the space, as well as lots of wood and cozy furniture that mixes with pieces of emotional memory. Green is also present in nature. that invaded homes to bring the necessary tranquility to everyday life. 2) Light, colors and textures: cheerful colors and textures were not left out! They were the choice of architects and interior designers to encourage the rediscovery of the sensations that only a true home can provide. Just like natural light, which plays an essential role in projects by highlighting spaces and helping to save energy. 3) Enhanced balconies: in the search for multifunctionality in spaces, balconies have become an option for leisure and relaxation. In the exhibition, professionals invested in these spaces using sustainable elements, different layouts and integration with other environments and with nature. 4) Work from home: working from home has become the new dream for Brazilians. Multipurpose and more private rooms are part of the projects presented, with more structured, private, spacious, decorated, well-lit versions, ready to carry out hours of professional activities.
(Eduardo Macarios/CASACOR)
Phygital Exhibition
This year, CASACOR Paraná is phygital, that is, in addition to the physical experience, the exhibition will also have important digital support, with a 3D Tour , photos andvideos available on the official website. The Digital Yearbook also comes to complete the experience, bringing together everything about the 2021 edition in a single place. The show has also taken all necessary measures to be recognized as a fully accessible and safe event, in accordance with current decrees and the implementation of health measures against COVID-19. In addition to having invested in a robust air renewal system, which guarantees forced ventilation in closed areas, CASACOR Paraná is attentive to the control of visitor flow and will have temperature measurement, alcohol gel displays, sanitization, hygiene and disinfection of environments offered by the company Premyer.
“The disruption that occurred during this pandemic period further strengthened CASACOR Paraná ’s care and involvement with society’s needs. The world is changing daily, many innovations have been anticipated, the need for adaptation has increased and, therefore, we present trends that will make part of our lives in a light and integrated way, expanding the possibilities for living well", says Marina Nessi, director of CASACOR Paraná .
