The headquarters of PUC Lourdes hosts, between August 15 and October 5, CASACOR Minas Gerais 2025. The building, originally constructed to house the Izabela Hendrix Methodist Institute, was inaugurated in 1941. The structure, which now integrates the Circuit Liberdade, is registered by competent authorities and draws attention for its grandeur and historical relevance. With a design by the Italian architect Raffaello Berti, who is responsible for more than 200 works in the city, including the City Hall, Minas Tênis Clube, Santa Casa, and the headquarters of the Post Office, among others, the building also served as the headquarters of the architecture and urbanism department of the Izabela Hendrix Methodist Institute, which was once considered one of the best courses in the field in the country. Acquired at the end of 2023 by PUC Minas, the registered property is now the headquarters of PUC Lourdes, currently housing the courses in Architecture and Urbanism, Digital Games, Administration, Accounting, and Economics. This edition features 49 projects, signed by a team of 74 professionals from architecture, design, and landscaping. Among them are renowned names, rising professionals, and new talents. Check out the projects!
Larissa Mendes Architecture - Maison Deboá Perfume
01/26 -

Larissa Mendes Architecture - Maison Deboá Perfumery. The space of Maison Deboá was conceived as a sensory extension of the brand. The proposal was to translate a universe that revolves around discreet sophistication, comfort, and warmth, into an atmosphere that exudes coziness, elegance, and a sense of belonging. Each choice of material, lighting, and texture was guided by a central idea: home as a sensory refuge. The store ceases to be just a point of sale and becomes an experience space where architecture invites the visitor to feel, inhabit, and remember.

Luisa Mano - Violet Bath
02/26 -

Luisa Mano - Violet Bath. The violet glass box, an intervention that preserves the Art Deco architecture of the original space, transitions between the past, which does not nullify, and the present, which imposes itself. The idea is to exalt the flexibility of time and styles, establishing a poetic dialogue, loaded with style and identity. This same proposal is in the conjunction of material technology with the personality of furniture that seems to traverse a tunnel of time to create unusual conversations in all the compositions that give meaning to the bath room as a projects of accessible memories.

(Jomar Bragança)
Hardy Design - Raffaello Berti Corridor
03/26 -

Hardy Design - Corridor Raffaello Berti. The project is based on the idea of an immersive experience to celebrate the architecture of the building. The corridor invites visitors to dive into the memory of the building. Inspired by the aesthetics of the time, the space uses large planes of color in geometric compositions, with a contrasting palette that combines deep green, soft pink, grayish blue, and carmine, colors characteristic of Art Deco. An exclusive wallpaper covers the landing of the staircase, while posters depicting the facade and architectural details of the building reinforce the visual narrative.

Pedro Lázaro - Dining Room
04/26 -

Pedro Lázaro - Dining Room. With few interferences in the original construction, the projects host various translations, one of them stemming from precise choices, both in the design of the furniture – much of it signed by the architect himself – as well as in the selected works of art. The result is a weighty ensemble in which the richness of content exhibits confidence and cultural and historical baggage. It is from the intentional emptiness of the entrance that the layout is organized, with the dining table at the back and two lateral occupations. The result is a weighty ensemble in which the richness of content exhibits confidence and cultural and historical baggage in a harmonious way. The architect envisioned a dining room as he himself imagines hospitality. With comfort for the before, impeccable and only the absolutely necessary for the during, and still a space for the 'after', always keeping in mind occasions that, being so good, should not come to an end or, if it is destined to happen, that it be with joy and relaxation.

(Jomar Bragança)
Sérgio Viana Architecture - Gold Suite of the Cerrado Hotel
05/26 -

Sérgio Viana Arquitetura - Suite Hotel Ouro do Cerrado. A hotel suite that is born from the territory between the visible and the sensorial, where the history of Minas connects to contemporary architecture. Inspired by the gold cycle, by the baroque paintings of the 18th century, and by the atmosphere of the great hotels in the interior of Minas, the projects invite to permanence and evoke rest. Away from ostentation, it also invites comfort and silence, filtered light, and time that slows down.

(Jomar Bragança)
Gislene Lopes - Room Elos
06/26 -

Gislene Lopes - Sala Elos. An invitation to meet and coexist, leaving the chaos outside. The precise balance between volumes, colors, and furniture transforms the space into a project that welcomes and awakens the presence of those who experience it. Design, comfort, precious details in the finishes and in the pieces designed by the architect, such as the counter in soapstone and wood, the bookshelf, and the cabinetry, along with the striking presence of art, make this room a unique place.

(Jomar Bragança)
Felipe Fontes - Garden of Taquaras
07/26 -

Felipe Fontes - Jardim das Taquaras. With a naturalistic concept, the garden proposes a modern and affectionate atmosphere. Valuing natural formations, it generates value through its contrast with the surrounding constructions, sowing contact with nature. Bamboos, grasses, ferns, and the composition of diverse foliage offer an aesthetic rich in textures, forming a contemporary, light, and tropical projects.

(Jomar Bragança)
André Rocha and Tiago Rossi - Quintal de Dentro
08/26 -

André Rocha and Tiago Rossi - Quintal de Dentro. Inspired by the elegant lines of Art Déco, the exuberance of Italian clubs, where life blends with art, and also by the affectionate memory of orchards, the space proposes permanence. Fruity species that hold the sweet aroma of a good time, striking textures, and a generous vegetation compose this yard/refuge that celebrates the meeting of memory and modernity. An invitation to rest and contemplation.

(Eudes Campomizzi)
Bruna Raid - Meeting Balcony
09/26 -

Bruna Raid - Balcony Encounter. The architecture of this space was designed as an invitation to pause, to connect, and to experiences that are eternal. Its fluidity begins with the curved wooden detail that guides the walk to the main area, where sofas and armchairs are pure comfort and warmth. In the composition of the floor, a play of solids and voids brings movement and lightness to the projects, which also features a fireplace over a water mirror and strategically positioned mirrors.

(Jomar Bragança)
Atiaîa Lighting Design - Front Facade Lighting and Landscaping
10/26 -

Atiaîa Lighting Design - Front Facade Lighting and Landscaping. A lighting project that enhances the facade of the building, inaugurated in 1939, with a design signed by architect Raffaello Berti. To highlight the discreet play of the building's volumetry, predominantly in the Art Deco style, layers of light were created, in gradient, from the entrance to the sides, minimally interfering with its aesthetic elements. In addition to contributing to the appreciation of the facade, the lighting emphasizes the textures of the existing landscaping.

(Jomar Bragança)
Alexandre Rousset - Gallery 30 years
11/26 -

Alexandre Rousset - Gallery 30 years. The space is dedicated to memory, reviving the 30 editions of CASACOR Minas, presenting the buildings that have already hosted the exhibition from a collection of illustrations developed by the "Fachada Frontal" project, arranged from a careful exhibition project. Although this is a temporal milestone, the projects are constructed in an atmosphere of fluidity, allowing the visitor's gaze to traverse the place towards the works, but recognizing the idea of a story inserted in a time that continues.

(Jomar Bragança)
Gláucia Britto Architecture - Piano Bar
12/26 -

Gláucia Britto Architecture - Piano Bar. A project designed to celebrate gatherings, good music, and the moments that truly matter, where the protagonist is the piano. Earthy tones blend with golden metals, creating a warm, inviting, and at the same time, sophisticated atmosphere. Carefully selected artworks bring personality and evoke a lifestyle where well-being connects to a love for aesthetics, colors, and the striking presence of culture, which envelops the entire room.

(Gustavo Xavier)
André Gibram and Antônio Grillo - Rizoma
13/26 -

André Gibram and Antônio Grillo - Rhizome. The installation is characterized by a beam of steel rebar that passes through the front gardens of the building, blooming in four moments, in a movement in which its continuity is intuited through the submerged sections – the rhizome. The project explores this concept in two directions: through materiality, with the hidden presence of steel in the constructions, and through form, with the multiplicity and non-linearity of the Deleuzian interpretation of rhizome.

(Jomar Bragança)
Ana Bahia - Brazilian Room
14/26 -

Ana Bahia - Sala Brasileira. In the projects created to celebrate 80 years of Líder Interiores, the idea was to exalt the meeting of familiarity with surprise. Wisely named Sala Brasileira, the idea is to preserve memories and celebrate the new, creating a projects conducive to encounters. These are ingredients that communicate fluently, transitioning between warmth and the unusual. Here, present and past, materials and tones were used with identity, resulting in a composition that mixes a unique, bold, and intimate perspective, referring to sophistication and attention to detail.

(Studio Tertulia)
15/26 -

Balsa Architecture - Gallery and Kitchen QuintoAndar. Two paths that connect at the end of the journey, complementing each other as narrative and sensory experiences. In the Gallery, the proposal is to guide the visitor through a corridor filled with chromatic variations, while exploring a sequence of projects. The idea is to awaken distinct sensations from the impact of colors and visual references that can be found along the way. The kitchen, a space that continues the concept of the gallery, alludes to the everyday life of a real house, combining colors, materials, and current objects with elements of affective memory, celebrating one of the most vibrant and creative spaces of a home. An ode to contemplation, valuing the essence of living.

(Jomar Bragança)

The lighting enhances the details, with a focus on a sculptural ceramic lamp. The presence of green adds freshness and life to the space, ensuring a sense of permanence.

(Gustavo Xavier)
Camila Medrado Architecture and Interiors - Room Time to Decant
17/26 -

Inspired by the principles of neuroarchitecture and guided by a sensory curation, the projects invite pause and delight. (Jomar Bragança)

The project proposes an ode to the mining land, uniting the act of prospecting with the appreciation of what we have that's most precious: clay, minerals, and gastronomy. (Gustavo Xavier)

20/26 -

In addition to the store, there is also a space that depicts and celebrates the mineiras houses and invites one to take a break, accompanied by sensory experiences.

(Estudio NY18)

(Henrique Queiroga)
Dunia Zaidan Architecture - Living Room
22/26 -

Dunia Zaidan Architecture - Living Room. The proposal here is to break with the standardized logic that associates neutrality with elegance, reaffirming in its place the value of personality and individual expression. Maraú Design Studio - Casa Boa Vista Deca
24/26 -

Kitchen and living merge in a single gesture, making the island the pulsating heart of the house. The rustic and the contemporary intertwine in textures, shapes, and affections. The central idea is the coexistence of people and the experience of the house, sowing a new way to live and dream.

(Jomar Bragança)
Ana Luiza Almeida - Between Looks - Gustavo Eyewear
25/26 -

Ana Luiza Almeida - Between Gazes - Gustavo Eyewear. The space is an invitation to pause, where the architecture reveals, with delicacy, the power of the gaze as connection, presence, and experience. More than a store focused on the sale of glasses, this project proposes a new way of seeing: attentive, sensitive, and deep. Lines, lights, and textures have been designed to provoke contemplation — of oneself, of others, and of the space. A place where the gaze is not only direction but also dialogue, encounter, and discovery.

(Leticia Galvão)
Manuela Senna - Living Roots
26/26 -

Manuela Senna - Living Roots. A barroom inspired by the art of hosting and the silent strength of natural elements, which arises from the desire to gather and connect emotionally. Its composition values organic forms and textures that evoke memory and belonging. Earthy tones create a serene and sensory atmosphere, where every detail has been designed to provide well-being and awaken subtle emotions. Here, the toast is a ritual: an invitation to good conversations.

(Jomar Bragança)
In Berti's design, a subtle influence of modernist traits can be perceived, predominantly in the Art Deco style. The construction stands out for the precision of its shapes and for including some aesthetic experiments at the time, such as the tall and narrow windows that form a very characteristic design of its facade. The floor plan is symmetrical and functional, and the circulation leads to an outdoor patio where the building can be contemplated. The facade in stone powder, another very remarkable characteristic of the time, is also a signature of the architect, present in other projects signed by him. Throughout this 30-year journey, CASACOR Minas has occupied a total of 26 properties in distinct areas of the metropolitan region, contributing to awaken new perspectives and reflections on buildings and the fundamental role of architecture, design, and art in people's lives. Among the spaces that have hosted editions of CASACOR Minas are: Mineiro Public Archive, Costa Smeralda Building, Casa do Conde, Casa Rosa (Rua da Bahia), Alphaville Mall, Casa Niemeyer, Casarão da Sapucaí, Mangabeiras Palace (now Palace Park), Casa Ferolla, Espaço 356, as well as various properties in the Pampulha region.

Gastronomy in Highlight

CASACOR Minas celebrates gastronomy with the participation of state icons. The official restaurant of the show again features the signature of Agnes Farkasvölgyi. An essential figure in the history of local gastronomy and a traditional name in the exhibition — this is her eighth participation, with six restaurants and two cafés in her curriculum —, the chef now presents MINÉRA: a creative Mineiro cuisine, with repertoire and freshness, designed to engage with the present time. One of the novelties of this edition is that the restaurant will be open to the public, meaning there is no need for entry tickets to enjoy it throughout the exhibition period.

On the menu, Agnes proposes an autoral Mineira cuisine, without folklore or easy concessions. The dishes start from tradition to experiment, with lightness, acidity, and technical precision. Among the highlights are the Stinco in Cocote, with pork slowly cooked in a sealed pan with pizza dough; the Filé, Cana, and Coffee, served with reduced cachaça sauce and coffee; and the Tortelli of sweet cheese with dashi of burnt onion and thyme, a recipe that synthesizes the restaurant's proposal: starting from heritage to create something absolutely new. The desserts are signed by Sá Marina, invited by Agnes to join the project. With the menu The Beautiful Arts of Minas in 5 desserts, the pastry chef presents sweet-sculptures that connect art, flavor, and narrative. Each creation pays tribute to an artistic expression — painting, poetry, music, sculpture, and architecture — and a Minas artist. Among them, Avoa, inspired by Milton Nascimento, and Tropeço, evoking Carlos Drummond de Andrade, are examples of how pastry can also provoke and move. "In Minas, I learned that sugar can also be clay, gold, or prayer," says Marina. Alongside Agnes are Fernanda Brugger, based in Berlin, responsible for creating the restaurant's concept and co-author of the menu, and Shima, a longtime partner who has been contributing to the project since 2011. "It is a great pleasure to continue surrounded by people who believe in the work and stimulate me to keep creating with curiosity and desire," says the chef. The restaurant occupies the ground floor of the Capela Verda Farrar, a modernist project by Sylvio de Vasconcelos, with a project by Arca Arquitetura. The proposal values the original lines of the building and pays homage to Minas' landscape through earth tones, natural materials, native vegetation, and textures that evoke the territory. The 30th edition of CASACOR Minas Gerais also marks a special moment in the history of Terraço Niê. For the first time, the restaurant officially participates in the event, occupying two distinct environments connected through the appreciation of architecture, landscape, and a good table: the Niê Tóquio, a bar designed by Mário Caetano, and the Niê Giardino, a café created by Izabella Stambassi. Both spaces offer visitors carefully thought-out gastronomic experiences that dialogue with the concept of each project. The menu of Niê Tóquio, with contemporary Asian inspiration, is signed by chef Victor Zuliani, who also commands the kitchen of Terraço Niê. The menu presents dishes like gyoza of cupim with oriental glaze, wagyu tartar with cured egg yolk and lotus chips, nori tacos with various fillings, as well as desserts like matcha tart with white chocolate and 70% chocolate mousse with yuzu. In the Niê Giardino café, the menu is signed by Débora Ignachiti, a partner and baker of the Bagueteria Francesa. The proposal values affective ingredients and artisanal preparations, like cornmeal broa with tangerine, cheese bread with jelly, vegetarian toasts, and brioche rabanadas with orange-flavored cream — all designed to be savored at leisure, in tune with the environment.

"CASACOR and Niê form a natural marriage. They are brands that connect through architecture, design, and the appreciation of experience. Having Niê at this commemorative edition is very symbolic for us," says Pedro Lobo, a partner of the restaurant. He also highlights Niê's vocation to honor architecture, as the original restaurant is located on the 25th floor of the first skyscraper signed by Oscar Niemeyer in Belo Horizonte. "Our space is an ode to architecture from the beginning. Participating in CASACOR reaffirms this pillar with even more strength, as we have already valued this universe even before we were part of it," he adds. The Cria Cafés also brings its creative and welcoming essence to CASACOR Minas 2025 with a project signed by Marcela Alves, from MCA Arquitetura. Conceived to be a meeting point, a pause, and tasting area, the space embodies the brand's purpose to transform the simple ritual of coffee into a sensory and memorable experience. A mirrored ceiling, a constant aroma of fresh coffee — even in the bathrooms —, watercolor paintings made with the brand's own coffee, and carefully selected music create a setting that stimulates all the senses. "Creating moments" is more than just a slogan: it is the essence of a project that invites visitors to experience the universe of specialty coffees in an immersive way.

For the show, chef Giovanna Giannetti signs a new menu, designed to harmonize with different coffee profiles. The recipes prioritize flavor, agility, and presentation, maintaining Cria's identity. Among the highlights are the creative coffee-based drinks, the tangerine cake with citrus glaze and almond crumble, the creamy corn cake with guava paste, and the Cria coffee pudding. The participation also marks the launch of a new special coffee profile, created exclusively for the event.

Art

In addition to the works of art and interventions that integrate this edition's projects, the 30th CASACOR Minas will feature the QuintoAndar Gallery, designed by the Balsa Arquitetura team. The idea is to offer temporary exhibitions, inviting the visitor to walk a path that provides an immersive experience in the universe of various artists. Every week, a different curation will allow the space to assume multiple facets throughout the exhibition period.

The first week of programming at the QuintoAndar gallery features curation by AM Galeria and presents, from August 15 to 25, an exhibit of works signed by photographer Jomar Bragança. Recognized as one of the main names in architectural photography in the country, Jomar, who is also an architect by training, has a strong authorial production as well. The exhibition brings together a slice of the experience and sensitivity of the photographer, offering a vast panorama of his work. Between August 25 and September 1, the QuintoAndar gallery will host an exhibition by photographer Luciana Rennó. Since beginning her journey in the world of photography, she has been traversing landscapes in Brazil and around the world, capturing images that convey a connection with the natural environment. Whether in dense forests, imposing mountains, or serene beaches, Luciana's gaze always finds the unexpected, revealing layers of hidden beauty, textures, and vibrations that only her unique sensitivity can perceive. With sharp intuition and a deep connection to nature, she reveals, through her lenses, angles and details that seem hidden to others. Her sensitivity and gaze are directly connected to the nature and its colors, textures, and forms.

From September 1 to 8, the works of Renato Morcatti will occupy the QuintoAndar gallery. This time, the curation is signed by Lemos de Sá Galeria. Renato Morcatti's work transits between the HOUSE that was born and its social surroundings and uses drawing and sculpture to narrate memories. It arises from family experiences guided by the emotion of memories of the places we inhabit and that also inhabit us throughout life. It mixes images of the present with the past, interfering in its current representation, to stimulate our intangible perception of things. The artist revisits the HOUSE, drawing from personal archives of photos, videos, objects, and furniture, looking at the architecture of internal and external spaces, gaps, corners, doors, and even its social surroundings as the central point of reflection and creation in his artistic projects. Upcoming exhibitions at the QuintoAndar gallery will be announced soon.
