Space designed by Mariana Mendonça focuses on mixing natural elements, Eastern philosophies and the sensoriality of nature

Backwaters are portions of water that, in the sea or in a river, penetrate a curved section of nature and form small calm coves. Sorts of real-life oases, bays that separate themselves from the whole and where stillness predominates. It is from this idea that the environment created by architect Mariana Mendonça at CASACOR Goiás 2023 was born.
In her eighth participation in the exhibition , the professional presents Remanso, a 98 m² space that invites you to a relaxing experience , in which water, stone, fire, natural fibers, clay, ceramics and other natural elements interact, mix and mingle. amid an atmosphere in which well-being prevails.

The project is inspired by the slow living , which starts from the conscious use of materials , without excesses and the appreciation of the roots , of what is natural.
“Within this proposal, we invested in the use of natural elements , neutral tones, abundant landscaping, crafts and furniture with a rustic feel to create an atmosphere of warmth, timelessness and tranquility”, describes Mariana.

Another fundamental part of the essence of Remanso is the concept Wabi-sabi , Japanese philosophy that preaches the appreciation of simplicity , introduced in Japan by Sen no Rikyu, in the so-called tea ceremony, an ancient practice characterized by serving and drinking green tea.
In the color palette , white, neutral and earthy tones create a look of lightness and welcome, embraced by the greenery that surrounds the entire space.

In terms of furniture , the highlight is the Sanduba armchair, by Mariana Marchesi Senna; the Lina armchair, from the Suíte Arquitetos office, in homage to the great Lina Bo Bardi ; and also the Boomerang sofa and the Polimorfa coffee tables, designed by Brunno Jahara.
Crafts also make up the soul of the environment, with several pieces by artist Marcus Camargo from Goiás. The landscaping is leafy and exuberant, with countless species of native vegetation, in different sizes and shapes, arranged on the floor, in vases, inserted into the decoration in a subtle way.
