Marlon Gama Arquitetura - Casa Dell Anno. CASACOR Bahia 2024 project.(Tarso Figueira/)
/50 - Kátia Sória - Entrance Garden. Inspired by the colors of Bahia, which reflect our rich cultural diversity, both the entrance garden and the square come to life with colorful and cheerful tropical vegetation. With sustainability in mind, the furniture was created from trees that have already fulfilled their role in nature and today give life to beautiful pieces. The structure of an old, deactivated fountain was also used to make way for a vertical garden, with the vegetation simulating a green waterfall. Large plants guarantee the space a unique mix of joy, energy, passion and tradition. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Carla Matos - Office/Library. In honor of the jurist and visual artist Amanda Jacobina, the space was designed to reaffirm the connection between art and design. To achieve this, the designer explored characteristics such as comfort and welcoming, through a visual proposal full of lightness and the use of more sustainable elements. Natural materials, such as wood and marble, create an atmosphere rich in textures, complemented by walls with a satin effect. The choice of curved furniture ensures functionality and practicality. Throughout the design of the project, the professional used eco-friendly construction techniques, which minimize environmental impact. The connection between the past and the present, suggested by the theme of the exhibition, is revealed through the use of the honoree's affective objects with the current furniture. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Amanda Vaz Arquitetura e Design - Parnaso Suite. The architect combines tradition, innovation and sustainability through elements that reflect her personal roots in a more affectionate and authentic way. The name Parnaso Suite evokes sophistication and excellence, but also connects with nature and poetry - frequent themes in Brazilian poetry from the Parnassian literary movement. The refinement is also evident in the choice of coverings, using large-format porcelain tiles. The materials prioritize sustainability: cotton and reconstituted leather (when possible), in addition to respecting the environment, guarantee durability and comfort. Electronics were purposefully reduced, using automation strategically only to promote relaxation and well-being within the environment. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Nath Veloso Arquitetura - The Family Room. The architect makes her debut at the show, bringing the concept of a family nest to the 60 m² space. The intention is to show how much the environment in which we live interferes in these relationships. On the other hand, the references also draw attention to the nest as a place where the individual feels safe, develops his/her activities and has fun. It is where the family gathers and shares moments of leisure, work, affection and love. Of the structure that already existed in the old Othon Hotel, special care was taken to preserve the floor (natural wood, dating from 1975), which was completely renovated. The functional bookshelf divided into three modules creates distinct environments: bar, TV area, garden and display of affective decorative objects. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Lissa Barreto - RePouso dos Filhos. Model airplanes inspire this space, bringing a personal and fun reference. A runway is lit up to imitate airport markers. A tribute to Santos Dumont appears with his face printed on the artistic painting on one of the walls. Other references to the father of aviation are in the ladder chosen for the bunk bed (a replica of the model designed by him), in the books that tell his story and in the model airplanes attached to the ceiling, which make real flights. All the furniture also follows the same idea: openings in the bunk bed imitate airplane windows and the slatted MDF study table simulates the shape of an aircraft. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Paulo Andrade Arq + Design - Memories Bathroom. Childhood experiences, memories and affections related to his own origins inspired the architect in the creation of this space. Among the biggest innovations presented in the project, we can mention the sound technology and lighting, in addition to the new coatings. The use of textures and natural elements, in addition to earthy and raw tones, are references to the Brazilian backlands, the context of the space, which also brings elements of regional culture and very typical of cities in the interior. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Santo Traço Arquitetura - Acalento Room. Childhood memories of grandma's house in the backlands of Bahia combined with automation technology, which create routines for the baby's life with times to wake up, play and sleep. This is the proposal of the environment, which has curved furniture and elements to ensure greater safety for the child when moving around the room. Neutral colors and natural fibers, such as cotton, are elements of comfort. The idea was to completely escape the standards seen in a baby's room, presenting an evolving space, with contemporary decor that will accompany the child's growth. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Alessandra Cohen - The Island of Comfort. With 197 m², the Island of Comfort is inspired by the African concept of Sankofa - which means "it is not taboo to go back and seek what has been forgotten". By looking at Salvador's roots, it is possible to build a future that preserves the city's culture and identity. The space includes an exhibition of photographs by renowned photographer Pierre Verger, famous for portraying daily life in Bahia and African influences. Alongside the photographs, works by young artist Beatriz Sampaio-Bea, using cotton, watercolor and Indian ink, depict orishas, offering a young and modern vision of Afro-Brazilian ancestry. The landscaping, with the local biome, connects the environment to nature and reinforces the dialogue between past and future. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Frederico Jordan Arquitetura - Nordestesse Store. The 35 m² space was inspired by the culture and identity of the Northeast, as well as the brand's own proposal, which explores concepts of sustainability, creativity and originality. The materials used include natural options typical of the region, such as custom handmade tiles, biriba ceiling - handcrafted in a local production -, sustainable ecopaper, velvet effect paint on the ceiling and straw lamps. The lightness of the space is also reflected in the chosen colors: beige, terracotta, off-white and the wood tone itself. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Raíza & Rodrigo Arquitetos - Graça Valadares Jewelry Store. To pay tribute to Graça Valadares' 30-year career, the project sought references in the union between the colonial architecture of Pelourinho, the modernist architecture with its arches that reference the Bahia Othon Palace, and the contemporary architecture to create an environment marked by meaning. Since it is a jewelry store, the aim was to make the layout of the space conducive to more humanized service, within a commercial space. The indirect lighting used in the wooden panels gives it an atmosphere of refinement. The safe that already existed in the space, dating back to the 1970s, is used as a display window, and has a set design by Rafael Bittencourt. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Maíne Ribeiro and Mariana Souza - Baú+ store for Aristeu Pires. With high-end furniture, natural stones, indirect lighting and a fluid layout, the space was designed to encourage immersion and intuitive circulation. Every detail was designed to enhance and pay homage to the creations of Bahian designer Aristeu Pires, together with the Baú+ furniture store, which exclusively represents him in Bahia. The use of natural textures provides lightness, warmth and comfort to the visitor. The light color palette, with neutral tones and green, evokes nature and helps to create a visual connection between the space and the pieces for sale. One of the most refined elements is the combination of marble and wood panels, creating a sophisticated and organic base to display the designer's collectible miniatures. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Gregory Copello - Lobby. Combining the GWN space, the reception and the Oficina Francisco Brennand store, the hotel lobby is an integrated space of almost 300 m², which combines tradition and contemporaneity. The project features earthy colors and prints that reflect current trends, creating a welcoming and inspiring space. The creation preserved the original flooring of the Bahia Othon Palace, which was developed especially for the hotel on the occasion of its inauguration by Francisco Brennand's workshop. This base serves as a reference for the entire composition of the environment. The combination of clay brick with modern concrete and classic jacaranda wood creates a harmony between old and new, complementing the architecture of the space with carefully selected materials and finishes. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Fernanda Milcent and Bruna Milcent - Milcent Arquitetura - Living Diálogos. A fluid and centralized layout to facilitate circulation through the space, allowing visitors to stroll among the furniture and works of art on display. This guides the design of the space, which has three very well-defined references as inspiration: mud houses (built with wooden structures and filled with clay), parquet floors (very popular in Brazilian homes from the 1950s and 1960s) and the Bahia Othon Palace itself (with emphasis on its emblematic arches). Fluidity and lightness also mark the choice of organic furniture with rounded finishes, in addition to the use of natural elements such as stones, present in the flooring and furniture. Indirect lighting helps to integrate the interior and exterior. The space also pays homage to the traditional ceramics of Maragogipinho and to Bahian art in general. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Gaspar + Dantas Arquitetos Associados - DECA Senses. Architects Carol Gaspar and Bento Dantas were mainly inspired by the idea of reinterpreting bathrooms through an integrated bedroom, in which the architectural elements define the space. To complete the project, the space uses some products from the Dexco group, such as Portinari's Caminho and Verona porcelain tiles, adding texture and unity to the space. The entire YOU line from Deca was also used, in dark anthracite, providing design, lightness and sophistication. The chosen furniture values maximum well-being in its creations. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Wesley Lemos - Imaginário. Bringing a deep connection between art, design and the essence of nature in a 120 m² space. This is the proposal of this project, which uses the beauty and originality of the Bahia Othon Palace building to promote a surprising exhibition through landscapes created by great names in the visual arts. One of the characteristics of the space is the integration of contemporary elements, such as good furniture and functional objects, with the visual and visual arts. The presence of nature, subtly incorporated through large canvases, creates a great impact and awakens a connection with beauty. In general, the space celebrates the aesthetics of modern architecture as a true cathedral of art, an opportunity to contemplate it and even question it, based on the landscapes painted and reimagined in large windows. All this artistic immersion gains even more context through the choice of minimalist lighting, emphasizing the works, as well as the colors of the paints Coral: Lugar de Afeto appears in the archways; Marrom Secular, on the walls. A palette that values welcoming and connecting with the earth. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Bruna Oliveira - Evviva Loft. The architect's approach was to combine comfort, sophistication and design trends with a sense of belonging. This way, the space gains integration of spaces and beauty through biophilia, present in the use of a green aquarium, also used to divide the boundaries of the social and private areas. The comfortable atmosphere is guaranteed by natural rocks, indirect lighting and different textures, such as those applied to the finishes - from the bouclé of the fabrics to the texture that refers to orange peel on the floor. The sense of belonging comes through art, touch, history, soft colors and graphic elements, which were carefully selected to promote a state of calm and reflection. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Marlon Gama Arquitetura - Casa Dell Anno. The 95 m² space is made up of two environments: living and gourmet, which are socially integrated for a fun, practical, objective and charming use. One of the new features is the launch of the new line of thin shelving units from Dell Ano, which combines design and technology with warm, earthy colors. As sophistication is already a hallmark of the architect, he brings a neutral base in the tone of gray to the floor and all the joinery, in balance with the earthy tones. The mix of ultra-modern elements is in tune with ancestry, which is highlighted in furniture and objects. Organic shapes, which are on the rise, are also present in different points of the project. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Caio Bandeira and Tiago Martins - Architects + CO - Espaço Moura Dubeux. Since this is a commercial space, the project emphasized the product on display, with a large screen positioned in the center of the space for exhibitions. The goal was to create a welcoming space, and to achieve this, a more fluid circulation was chosen, with organic shapes and an informal atmosphere, which favors the flow of people. The high ceiling, with the presence of beams, made it possible to create elements in the ceiling using plaster with a wood texture, in addition to rounded details. The touch of relaxation also came with the installation of a bar, which helps with the dynamics of receiving visitors. The final touch is guaranteed with a work by Frans Krajcberg, highlighted in the decorated environment. The idea is that the experience of the visit awakens in people the sensation of living in the apartment. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Walter Schimmelpfeng - Andrade Schimmelpfeng Arquitetura - Studio Aquarela. In a space where time dances with the sea breeze, the Andrade Schimmelpfeng office reinterprets the main theme. Each detail echoes the legacies of the past, intertwining with a look to the future. Materials, furniture and memories are not mere objects, but witnesses of a journey, as if the house had a soul. The project features a modern and integrated layout, allowing for new uses of the space. The earthy tones with touches of blue and stainless steel, in addition to textures, highlight the affective heritage of Northeastern craftsmanship. The furniture designed by Fernando Zanardi and De La Cruz, in turn, points to the future. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Milena Saraiva Arquitetura e Interiores - Living Potengy. The space, named after the architect's father, is a reference to the first ancestors, celebrating the rich cultural mix, which is evident in the choice of colors and finishes, inspired by traditional body paintings, such as annatto, jenipapo and limestone. The choice brings life and authenticity to the space, while creating a powerful visual connection with the past, symbolizing the resistance and wisdom of indigenous peoples. The proposal is to combine well-being, personalization and sustainability, which translates into the exploration of biophilia, that is, the use of many plants, in addition to sustainable materials, such as reforested wood and natural stones. The technological touch appears with the lighting, sound and air conditioning systems controlled by voice or apps by the nightclub lights camouflaged in the ceiling. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Cátia Bacellar - Studio do Compositor. Musician Tatau, who led the band Ara Ketu for years, inspired interior designer Catia Bacellar to create the Studio do Compositor. Focused on functionality and aesthetics, the space has acoustic ceilings and walls to ensure sound quality, as well as a TV measuring just 1.1 cm deep. The space uses porcelain tiles and sustainable wallpaper that can be reused. With a light color palette, green and blue predominate, as well as white furniture and gold artwork. Spot lighting highlights these elements, creating the perfect atmosphere for the composer. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Vítor Martins - Studio Ébano. Inspired by the theme "From the present, the now", architect Vitor Martins created Stúdio Ébano, an environment that pays homage to Ilê Aiyê, the first Afro block in Brazil and one of the most important cultural expressions of the Salvador Carnival, which celebrates 50 years in 2024. The 45 m² studio has a base of neutral colors and highlights the colors of the Afro block: red, yellow and black. The space features works by visual artists J. Cunha and Alberto Pitta, who have already made prints for the block, photography by Pedro Ariel, curator of the exhibition, which expresses the beauty of the Ebony Goddess, and a turban made by Dete Lima, stylist and one of the founders of Ilê. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Alessandra Cohen - Café Placas do Brasil - Vozes da Amazônia. In addition to using the same renovated tables from the original Bahia Othon Palace café, which is already a very charming touch, the project features references inspired by the Amazon. This is very evident in the landscaping inspired by the Amazon biome and the use of chairs dyed in burgundy tones, which represent the colors of the uirapurus - a bird with colors and a striking song that, according to legend, arose from the love of a warrior for a committed indigenous woman. The upholstery features resistant nautical fabrics and leather and linen weaves. The furniture features benches made of MDF. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Cohen & Trevisan Arquitetos - Exhibition "De Presente, o Othon". The exhibition aims to recover the history, architecture and affective memories that the place holds and brings a rich selection of photos, objects, videos and other elements that retell the history of the hotel. Among the items on display are the original plans of the building, photographs of the construction and objects that recall the golden age of the hotel, such as the keys, restaurant menus and the iconic luggage carts. These objects were carefully rescued from inside the building which, despite being closed for almost a decade, preserved much of its memorabilia. Photographer Gabriela Daltro was tasked with capturing the current essence of the hotel, producing images of the building today. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Cohen & Trevisan Arquitetos - Wine Bar Mandacaru. The northeastern backlands and the fresh wines of the São Francisco Valley are the themes of this space, which features new MDF products from Placas do Brasil (in the Acácia and Capim Dourado patterns), as well as Tidelli furniture and a wine cellar. The same inspirations guided the choice of the color palette, which mixes earthy tones from the backlands with colors that refer to wines. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Fernanda Miguel and Pedro Córdova - Refúgio Folhas. This project, the result of a collaboration between architects Fernanda Miguel and Pedro Córdova, is mainly inspired by the album "Brasileirinho" by Maria Bethânia. The choices of colors, materials and objects were guided by the aesthetics of the album, using earthy tones, ironwood veneers and abundant vegetation. The highlight is the use of natural stones and landscaping, reflecting a connection with nature. The furniture, designed by Biasá, reinforces this concept with natural materials. The partnership with Avatim, a Bahian perfumery, self-care and well-being brand, brings aromas to the space, expanding its concept. The art curation values local artisans and different artists, celebrating regional culture. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Fonseca Arquitetos - Reflexo Lounge Bar. The Reflexo Lounge Bar, a space designed by Larissa Fonseca and Rangel Fonseca, offers visitors an immersive experience. The experience begins with interaction with strategically positioned mirrors and continues with materials that stimulate contact with emotional memories. The furniture is one of the highlights of the project and features striking design and a variety of materials. The colors were inspired by careful research, with emphasis on Rosso Fiorentino marble, which harmonizes with the selected works of art, offering an innovative and sophisticated interpretation of the environment. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - APSP Arquitetos - Aura Clinic. The Aura Clinic, designed by architects and urban planners Aline Sodré and Patricia Pontes, from APSP Arquitetos, is inspired by the concept of healing, combining sophistication, comfort and technology. Designed to activate the five senses, the space received a lot of texture, indirect lighting and natural elements, bringing aspects of biophilia. Materials such as dark wood, porcelain and Corian contribute to maintenance. The project by specialists in architecture applied to healthcare was designed to make the environment welcoming and personalized. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - João Gabriel - O Canto de Gil. Making his debut at CASACOR Bahia, architect João Gabriel presents O Canto de Gil, which pays homage to black cultural heritage and the music of Gilberto Gil. Inspired by the song “Baba Alapalá,” the space uses red, yellow, and pink clay tones to create an ancestral connection with the land. The entrance hall displays an image of the singer and composer from Bahia dressed as an ancestor next to a tree that symbolizes his roots. Excerpts from his songs are scattered throughout the space, and the trilogy of albums “Refazenda,” “Refavela,” and “Realce” are highlighted in paintings. João Gabriel, known for his Brazilian aesthetic and decolonial approach, incorporates Mexican, Asian, and African cultural elements, creating an environment that reflects deep memories and connections. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Márcio Davi - Jamm Cigar Lounge. Architect Márcio Davi presents the Jamm Cigar Cigar Shop, an environment inspired by the colors and textures of tobacco and the curves of the windows already present in the architecture of its space. The cigar shop brings an elegant and welcoming atmosphere, reflecting the tones and marks of the tobacco leaves in their drying and fermentation process. Technology is also a highlight, with purifying lamps that purify the air in the smoking area. The choice of colors and materials, such as earth tones, wood and dried tobacco, was designed to reflect the essence of the artisanal cigar, emphasizing the importance of details in production and architecture. The result is a space that celebrates tradition and sophistication. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Dinah Lins - Terra Lounge. The Terra Lounge, created by Dinah Lins, was inspired by her hometown, Irará (BA), and reflects the memories of her childhood and adolescence. The project sought to bring personal references to the theme "From the present, the now", connecting past and present. The space stands out for its use of textured coverings that evoke nature and innovative furniture, including pieces signed by designer Victor Vasconcelos and a table created by Dinah's office team. The colors and materials chosen, such as earthy tones and natural textures, were carefully selected to reflect the concept of clay and the connection between humans and the earth. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Rodrigo Rodrigues - Ainá Restaurant. Rodrigo Rodrigues designs Restaurante Ainá, which is intimately connected to the sea. The name, which means happiness in Japanese, was chosen by chef Vini Figueira, who contributed to the space's identity. The architect also had the collaboration of designer Aristeu Pires and brought wood as a central element, the protagonist of the furniture. The project preserves traces of the place's original architecture, adding sustainable materials and highlighting different lighting and joinery elements. The large glass profiles stand out in its design, which transform the sea into a natural picture, in addition to the bar, show kitchen, wine cellar and a balcony surrounded by gardens. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Jessyka Cintra Arquitetos - Bulha Cabana Home. Designed as a luxurious refuge to encourage the practice of mindfulness, the space offers visitors the opportunity to disconnect from the daily hustle and bustle and reconnect with what really matters: the present. Harmoniously inserted into nature, the transparent bubble-shaped cabin allows every detail of the natural environment – from the sound of birds to the shine of the stars – to be fully appreciated. With the use of noble natural materials, sustainable solutions, and situated on a hillside with stunning views of the sea, the project not only respects nature, but also stimulates a deep connection between the built space and the environment, offering an experience innovative, immersive and sensitive to create memories. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Nat Coelho - Galeria Origens Epô. The poetics of the earth is the primordial element of the environment, due to its ability to promote life and transform death into life again. This process is supported by the pillars of ancestry, human relationships and the relationship with the social environment. To demonstrate how the power of our culture lies in cultural diversity and the harmony of the mix, there is plurality among the exhibitors. Artists Mario Vasconcelos, Annia Rizia, Allan Silva and Almir Lemos exalt the power of Afro Diasporic culture with a presentation of manual clay works. Iuri Sarmento represents the baroque and his Portuguese ancestry with the reinterpretation of porcelain, Bruna Gidi brings the narrative of human relationships through her series (EN)CENAS, with reflections on the environment and social contrasts. Jorge Amaro shows his colorful bamboos, which connect us to nature and the primitive and Alexandre Feliciano paints Yemanjá. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Rosaneli & Edington Arquitetos - Lounge Elementar. Developed by Vinicius Rosaneli and Beatriz Edington, Lounge Elementar uses natural elements to create an outdoor living space with an interior design divided into themed areas that represent the four elements: air, earth, water and fire. The idea is to offer a sensory refuge, with a focus on well-being and introspection. Its dome-shaped or hollow structure, made of bamboo or certified wood, creates a sense of protection and welcome, allowing natural light and ventilation to enter, and its spatial orientation was planned to maximize the sea view. Evviva carpentry, with natural wood furniture, complements the project, which also values local crafts and indigenous art, highlighting the connection with ancestral roots. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Luiz Cláudio Motta - Green Area Square. The project was inspired by the diversity and joy of the carnivals, concerts and New Year's Eve parties that marked the green area of Othon. The architect divided the space into two main areas: a place for contemplation and an area with a natural pool. The landscape composition highlights native species, adapted to the local climate. Designed around a lake with carp, the square has an urban bamboo grove with more than 500 bamboo trees, up to 5 m high, creating a perfect environment for observation and relaxation. It also offers exclusive furniture, inspired by Brazilian fauna and flora, designed by Tidelli Outdoor Living. The project is a pioneer in the adoption of environmental consulting since its conception, with the support of Green Edifica. The strategies and actions were designed to encourage more sustainable practices. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Daiane Reis – Joia Piscinas Biológicas - Reflexos da Origem. Reflexos da Origem was created to promote a sensorial experience. Designed by landscaper Daiane Reis, it invites contemplation and reconnection with nature. The tropical garden, with direct access to an ornamental lake, was designed to provide a connection with the environment. Each element was designed based on the principles of neuroarchitecture and biophilic design, creating a space that delights the eyes and nourishes the mind and spirit. As visitors walk through the garden, they are invited to reflect on how contact with nature positively impacts their physical and mental health. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Edilson Campelo - Guest Cabin. To design the Guest Cabin, architect Edilson Campelo decided on a main structure made up of glued laminated timber (MLC) - a high-strength material that replaces concrete and steel in large constructions. In his choices, the professional also chose to make the roof and facades with thermoacoustic ceiling tiles, which do not require additional finishes, and tempered glass frames, which maximize the view of the Atlantic Ocean. He also chose flooring covered with natural national travertine, providing a tactile experience that evokes the feeling of walking barefoot on rock. With the environment, Campelo pays homage to modern Bahian architecture, drawing inspiration from the work of Paulo Casé, who, in 1973, designed the Bahia Othon Palace in Salvador. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Paulo Andrade and Rafael Andrade Arquitetura - Casa Rosemberg. Inspired by the architecture and values inherited from their grandparents, Paulo Andrade and Rafael Andrade designed Casa Rosemberg to demonstrate that the current way of living can be enriched by mixing memories and references from the past with contemporary concepts and technology. With a modernist façade, marked by a colorful panel of hydraulic tiles, and a black exposed structure, which contrasts with the large wall of concrete slats, the 120 m² house has a welcoming internal garden, strategically positioned, which gives the feeling of a backyard. The living, dining and kitchen spaces are integrated, with a stunning view of the sea, symbolizing the evolution of the concept of housing in Brazil. The furniture and objects in Casa Rosemberg are in tune with the works of art and were chosen to preserve the essence of "living well" and fill the house with affective memories, creating a harmony between ancestry and contemporaneity. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Carol Barreto - Bungalow Land and Sea - A Breton experience. Carol Barreto presents a bungalow inspired by her experiences in the south of Bahia and by works that have marked her career. The environment evokes the circle of family love, a welcoming place that promotes belonging and socialization, where family members gather to create and remember their precious memories. To achieve this, the architect used organic furniture and carpentry in light tones, complemented by soft lighting that awakens a feeling of peace and tranquility with cross ventilation, which eliminates the need for air conditioning, taking advantage of the sea breeze. The space was designed to inspire calm and promote deep emotional bonds. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Mariana Leão Arquitetos - Hogar. Hogar, whose name means “home” in Spanish, is a project that goes beyond the physical and tangible, exuding a deep sense of belonging and identity. Simple in its form, but rich in details, its asymmetry and “imperfection” reflect the continuous evolution of the space, which adapts and transforms, welcoming new objects and memories. Each element is unique and specific, with colors and objects that tell the story of those who inhabit it. An invitation to family life, the environment rescues the feeling of particularity that is often lost in modern homes. A place created with the identity of those who live there. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Camila Maia - Aruan Cabin. A sanctuary that combines the solidity of rough stones with the fluidity of organically designed furniture, the Aruan Cabin, designed by architect Camila Maia, was conceived to be a celebration of nature and human resilience. The space pays homage to the women of Chapada Diamantina, whose images capturing moments of courage while breaking rocks with their own hands adorn its walls. Every detail was designed to inspire respect and admiration, weaving a narrative rich in culture and identity. The objects present in the space, made by the Pataxó people of southern Bahia, complete the space, considered by its creator to be a celebration of life, roots and connection with the land. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Um pra Um Arquitetura - WC Existir. The office of Talita Neri and Amanda Menezes, new to CASACOR Bahia, created WC Existir, inspired by the importance of the bathroom as a place for personal and collective experiences, especially for the LGBTQIAPN+ community. The space celebrates the authenticity and beauty of drag queens through vibrant colors ranging from shades of eggplant to blue, and materials selected to tell stories of the search for equality and belonging. The architects brought some technological innovations to the project, such as the spouts for countertop washbasins from the Deca You line and the rectangular built-in sink with countertop, from the Deca Slim line, which were chosen to combine functionality with style. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Vorá Arquitetura - Dendê Kitchen. Odara Machado and Víctor Calmon designed Dendê Kitchen, a space that combines contemporary style with the essence of Bahian cuisine. The living space, where "cooking" is the focal point highlighted by an exotic natural stone countertop, has been given a palette of earthy tones and expressions by Bahian artists. This transforms it into an inviting environment in every corner, from the entrance lounge to the main area, where the connection with cultural roots is valued. The project celebrates the kitchen as a heart, integrating life, nature and art in a place that invites everyone to feel at home. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Caroline Gomes and Renan Saturnino - Raízes Sanitary. The professionals bring their family origins to the heart of the space. Both sought to tell the stories of their grandparents and parents through the project. The space also features velvety textured finishes, which provide a pleasant and sophisticated touch experience. Another highlight is the use of sisal ropes as a key material, which brings a strong identity and shows how it is possible to transform a simple raw material into an element of sophistication and originality. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Par Studio - Isla. Architects Eduarda Coelho and Márcio Tanajura, from Par Studio, sought affection to create the concept for Isla, a space designed to convey warmth, comfort and identity, incorporating memories, stories and values. The space stands out for its innovative use of technology, with Hunter Douglas equipment that includes an aluminum structure for outdoor areas, with a retractable roof and motorized blinds, providing functionality and comfort in outdoor spaces. The choice of colors and materials was guided by trends observed at the Milan fair, with a palette of earthy tones and varied textures, used with the aim of creating a project that embraces the emotions of good living. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - Dolores Landeiro - Apartment Living Room. The main inspiration for the design of the space came from the work of Frans Krajcberg - an artist and activist who denounced the burning of the Atlantic Forest through his art. The photography by Mário Cravo Neto captures the cultural and spiritual richness of Bahia, while the image by Andrea Fiamenghi brings a contemporary and poetic perspective. In addition, the paintings by Rodrigo de Castro and Marcelo Kruschewsky add layers of color and emotion to the space, creating a dialogue between the art and the other elements of the space. One of the main novelties of the space is the bar cabinet designed by the architect, which is made of Bianco Casa Nova marble extracted from Bahian soil. (Gabriela Daltro)
/50 - NN Arquitetos - Brazilian Cuisine. The Brazilian essence is the main focus of the project, which highlights the abundance of natural beauty, cultural richness and diversity of raw materials. All of this is harmoniously integrated with the concepts of contemporary architecture and biophilic design. The structure has a more modern feel, with cabinets and appliances centralized in a single custom-designed unit with rounded corners. In the color palette, the traditional white gives way to shades of green, yellow, gray and black. The coverings have a matte effect, inspired by dusty and dry natural pigments. The furniture designed by Estudiobola stands out in the composition of the space. (Xico Diniz)
/50 - Brisa Bessa and Danilo Lopes - Lavanderia Origem. The washerwomen of Itapuã receive special tribute and inspire the environment. History and tradition dialogue with the contemporary style of the houses and apartments. To represent the future that is just around the corner, the space features Stack washing machine technology and electric dryer, which reduce washing time and energy and water consumption. The goal is to create a welcoming and calm space that evokes the waters of Salvador, emphasizing the importance of caring for the environment in all our daily actions. (Tarso Figueira)
/50 - Tatiana Melo Arquitetura - Elo Dining Room. The custom of gathering the family around the dining table is something ancestral and full of fond memories. This act of celebrating life is the architect's great inspiration for the project, which gave a special touch to the space by connecting the double dining table with a drinks table - which also supports appetizers and snacks. The color palette balances warm and cold, with the use of ochre and graphite tones, bringing life and sophistication to the space. (Gabriela Daltro)
