The curation of furniture and objects is one of the great secrets of a decor with identity. When chosen with care, these elements help tell stories and reveal the references that define an interior design project. It was precisely from this concept that architects Josemar Costa Júnior and André Azevedo, from Studio Costa + Azevedo, developed Casa Origens Mercado Livre.
With 53 m², the apartment was designed as a fluid and integrated space, without partitions, composed of a hall, living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Throughout the entire extension of the project, the handpicked furniture brings together pieces from different decades and origins, with emphasis on those found on the e-commerce platform.
For Roberta Donato, vice president of marketplace at Mercado Livre, the debut at CASACOR marks the platform's approach to the universe of architecture and decoration.
"Home and Decoration is a category that has been growing consistently at Mercado Livre, and CASACOR gives us the opportunity to be where this universe reinvents itself. We want to build a genuine relationship with the professionals who set trends and influence purchasing decisions in Brazil, integrating their perspective into our ecosystem," she states.
In addition to gathering a wide catalog of home products, Mercado Livre has an Affiliates and Creators Program aimed at those who want to share recommendations for items in the Home, Furniture, and Decoration categories. Through personalized links, it is possible to recommend products across different digital channels and receive commission on sales generated by the recommendations.

In the social area, the Alpha armchair, created by Maurice Burke & Arkana in the 1960s, shares the scene with the classic LC1, designed by Le Corbusier in 1928. Together, they dialogue with the Alf sofa, by Casa Ática, in a caramel tone, and with the constructivist armchair by Rodrigo Almeida, from BS Galeria. The chess table by Moooi adds a contemporary touch, while the Hemp TC Natural rug, by By Kamy, reinforces the welcoming atmosphere.
This refined mix continues in the dining area. A table designed by Ernesto Hauner is accompanied by chairs by Martin Eisler, from the 1950s, and the Him chair, by Fabio Novembre. In addition to bringing together iconic design furniture, the architects also invested in accessories, utensils, and contemporary objects that dialogue with the high-low proposal and with the idea of affective decoration.

"Curation is the construction of a home based on the references of the person who lives in it. Each piece dialogues with a certain moment in that person's life, and this decoration is built gradually," says Josemar.
The cabinetry designed by the studio and executed by Criare reinforces the sense of warmth. Wooden panels and shelves help organize the space and create visual unity. Among the details, the stainless steel crosspieces stand out, a material explored by the duo for its connection to a vintage aesthetic.

"We are always playing with stainless steel, which is an element widely used in the 80s and 90s and brings that more high-low feel," explains the architect.
In the intimate area, the bed, closets, and headboard, upholstered in fabric, form a unique and cozy set. A desk accompanied by the Platner chair, by Warren Platner, completes the project. The bathroom, in turn, gained a large fluted glass porthole that, seen from the social area, works almost as a scenographic element.
Since the curation of pieces from different eras and styles is at the heart of the projects' concept, Josemar and André decided to share their finds with the public. Most of the items were found on Mercado Livre and can be accessed through QR Codes distributed throughout the space.

“Mercado Livre is naturally a platform that brings together an enormous diversity of products, styles and references, where you go to search for various things. That is exactly the word that best translates the language of the project,” concludes Josemar.
