With the premise of redefining living and bringing the true essence of home , where the house is considered a temple, a place of comfort, affection and life, Barbara Dundes presents “ Casa Morada ” in her second participation in CASACOR São Paulo . Inspired by the text “Casa Arrumada” by Carlos Drummond de Andrade, the architect proposes a reflection from the perspective of the transformations that the new way of looking at the home has shown us . Valuing one’s own home, which is full of stories, not only as an impeccable setting, but something that establishes the meaning of life , has never been so important, according to her.

With 82 m² , the project focuses on well-being and was divided into a balcony, living room, kitchen, dining room and suite with a garden. Following a palette of light and soft tones, the project combines welcoming and self-knowledge in every corner, with assertive curation focused on valuing family moments and rescuing emotional memories , where the visitor can transport themselves to a true experience in a living house.

In reference to the human body, with its curvatures, nuances and volumes, the architect created a curved wall to separate the social area from the private area . Seen from the entrance, it breaks the straight lines of the other finishes, providing movement to the space. Seen from the other side, this same wall appears as a large headboard, which embraces the bed.

To ensure greater comfort, the professional created a ceiling entirely covered in Tauari wood , from Akafloor. And to create a welcoming atmosphere full of personality, she chose custom carpentry , made in an exclusive partnership with Criare, which features a large shelf made of Freijó wood veneer , designed by her especially for the space and which runs along the main wall. In this space, visitors can see symbolic and emotional objects , but also empty spaces that refer to what is yet to be experienced, symbolizing the construction of memories.

Another highlight is the mashrabiya door, which lets in the natural light from the windows of Conjunto Nacional and brings a poetic light to the space, making it even more inviting. In the background, a tensioned screen simulates a skylight to bring light to the landscaping, like a window in a garden for moments of contemplation. “ Everything was designed to create the best experience , alluding to the happiness that should be seen beyond a simple cutout, but lived with intensity. And this feeling of contentment can only be found in a place of lightness, free from judgment and full of affection ,” comments Barbara.

Design elements, works of art and sculptures mark the identity of the space , highlighting the beauty of each person's originality in their own home, such as the Geo armchair by Sérgio Rodrigues . The choice of modernist pieces highlights the originality of the human being and highlights our home as a reflection of our lives. The dark wood furniture adds a warm touch to the decoration of the space, such as the base of the chairs and table, by Clami. The green leather sofa, by Salva, provides a touch of color to the room.

Barbara also prepared an experience for visitors where, upon arriving at the space, they will be able to experience a real Casa Morada , with environments that highlight the presence of the residents, such as smells , furniture and objects that were used . And, as Carlos Drummond de Andrade would say: “ A house with life is one where we enter and feel welcome ”.
