Back at
CASACOR São Paulo in 2021, the duo Bruno Carvalho and Camila Avelar, at the head of the
BC Arquitetos office, once again leave their mark on the São Paulo show with the
Casa Alva project. Recognized for their
authentic and timeless designs , which give highlighting works of art and design pieces, the duo renewed their already consolidated style with an environment that conveys lightness and is like a
temple of tranquility .
Like a kind of
monochromatic box full of cutouts, curves and textures, Casa Alva is a
bright and minimalist project that focuses on connecting with nature, revisiting the four elements through art and design pieces: water, wind, fire and light. .

"The word 'alva' symbolizes clarity, lightness and luminosity. The cutouts present in the project
highlight the entrances of light and especially this closeness to nature. The simple lines with
rounded details give a poetic and affectionate air to the environment", explains architect Bruno Carvalho.

In the living room integrated with the dining room, it is possible to perceive a
contemporary and minimalist poetic that guides the new way of living, connected with the future. In fact, the Internet of Things (IoT) is already a reality in Casa Alva – this is because the project features a
powerful system automation , with which it is possible to control light, sound, curtains, swimming pools and all other functionalities of the space.

The clean lines are highlighted by the
Coral Seda Damasco paint, and by the Italian Terrazzo flooring that was chosen to cover the entire interior. In the room, a work by
Edgar Racy deconstructs the Brazilian flag and the national anthem and strengthens the presence of Brazilian art.

Conceived as a space where all attention is "turned inwards", Casa Alva values in its essence several concepts of
biophilia , which seek to promote
reconnection with elements of nature . Thus, elements such as fire are represented by the presence of the
suspended fireplace in the living room; water is represented by the thermal bath and the pool with a thermal spring; the wind, on the other hand, circulates freely due to the
absence of barriers between the environments; light is highlighted by the various cuts in the architecture; and finally, the green can be seen in the composition of the plants in the gardens of the internal and external areas – both developed by landscaper
Sandro Ward .

One of the highlights of the project is the massive presence of
period Brazilian furniture , created by renowned artists such as
Joaquim Tenreiro , who designed the chairs in the dining room and office. In the living room, the highlights are the coffee table
Sérgio Rodrigues and armchairs by
Percival Lafer and
Zanini di Zanine . The furniture is complemented by items from the antique shops Galeria Teo, Herança Cultural and Use Galeria, as well as Collectania and Novo Ambiente. In the office, the famous
blue geese appear, characters widely explored in BC Arquitetos projects and who have an emotional relationship with the duo.

Another unique feature of the space is the
headboard , which was customized by Collectania. Also in this same space, there are two collaborations by Estúdio Manus: one of them is the
fabric installation that divides the bedroom from the intimate spa. The other is a suspended flower sculpture, which represents the dreamlike language present in all the environments of Casa Alva.

The highlight of the project is the intimate spa, consisting of a bathroom, massage area and pool with thermal treatment. The
sandblasted raw travertine marble countertop, developed by the office especially for the show, with a built-in sink by
Deca is the first sight of those who arrive at the bathroom – a space dedicated exclusively to relaxation and well-being.
In the space to the left of the bathroom, there is the shower area, which was completely covered with
rustic-looking tiles from Belamari. The same finish was used in the internal pool area, equipped with taps for thermal baths.
Balance and lightness are part of the concept of BC Arquitetos' project for CASACOR São Paulo 2021 – a space that
prioritizes calm, well-being and connection with nature . A home without barriers, where the exaltation of relaxation takes place in the intimate spa.
