Right at the entrance to CASACOR São Paulo 2024 , architect Carla Felippi designed the Lounge Bar Happiness environment, which invites visitors to experience mindfulness by focusing on the different sensations provoked by lighting — or the lack thereof. In the 85 m² that encompass the space, the architect simulated different light scenes and even a stroboscopic sequence, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a sensory experience that alternates moments of calm with feelings of excitement. “The large tensoflex panel gives the impression of natural light. An invitation to simply feel and observe our sensations, connecting us to our genuine joy, the joy of our inner child,” explains the architect, who studied human biology to understand how interior architecture can affect people’s well-being .

The environment brings together elements of nature to enhance the sensations: soft-toned wood covering the muxarabi ceiling creates, along with the walls, moments of delicate light and shadow, panels with sinuous shapes, natural straw coverings on the walls and linen fabrics and ultra-comfortable technological fibers on the upholstery.

To compose the decoration , Carla Felippi bet on Brazilian art and handmade pieces, combining colors and designs in order to imprint ancestral knowledge and transmit an air of belonging and affective memory .

“Round mirror panels cover the original pillars of the Conjunto Nacional building, a historical heritage site in São Paulo , representing a powerful tool for society to look to the past and gain a better understanding of how to build its time and the future we are heading towards,” says the architect.
