Maurício Nóbrega Arquitetura – Casa Bistrô. In the space previously reserved for the residence's garage, in a recessed area of its large garden, the restaurant features a mix of pieces of different styles – many of them found in the house itself and unused for years. The use of plants as dividers and the maintenance of coverings such as the old tiles in the space bring more personality to the environment. The furniture favors large and spacious tables that allow distancing even between people in the same group. (André Nazareth)
At first glance, Casa Bistrô is captivating due to the variety of textures and patterns that run throughout the entire structure – from the furniture to the walls. Bamboo, straw, wood and stone structure the chairs designed by Maurício Nóbrega for CASACOR Rio 2021, as well as the lighting fixtures, the counter and the tables. The checkered vinyl gives a modern touch to the address, whose construction dates back to the 19th century .
The charming mix of styles even includes items found inside the Brando Barbosa residence itself – the headquarters of the Rio de Janeiro exhibition – which has not been used for many years. The openings to the large garden in front provide light and freshness to the space, whose old elements have been preserved , such as the large arches and columns of the original architecture. Special mention should be made of the two trees positioned at the back of the restaurant , which evoke the air of a work of art.
The restaurant's tables are also spacious, allowing for social distancing even among people in the same group. Each table has a small arrangement of natural herbs and spices , which perfume the entire room. The idea in the sofa area is to relax and contemplate, like a small lounge designed to look outwards , disconnecting from the hustle and bustle inside.
