The Pernambuco culture, especially the Armorial artistic-cultural movement created by Ariano Suassuna in the 1970s, defines the atmosphere of the Cozinha Viva Deca project by architect Cecília Lemos, presented at CASACOR Pernambuco 2025. With a palette of warm and vibrant colors, the project integrates kitchen and living area, transforming into a place of encounters and affections.

“Cozinha Viva Deca arises from the desire to celebrate everyday life. By bringing together music, art, and cooking, we create a project of encounters, affection, and memory. It’s an invitation to remember who we are and where we come from, in tune with the exuberance of Pernambuco,” says the architect.

In the project, the main island is the protagonist and establishes the visual rhythm, covered with Mood Portinari 15 x 15 cm in two earthy tones (BW LUX and SPK LUX), in a checkered pattern layout. To promote conviviality and allow versatility between preparing and serving while preserving a clean design, the island is equipped with the Funstation Sink from Deca, in a nano inox finish, with a drainer, wooden boards, bowls, and an ice bucket, along with the Retractable Monocomando Deca Inside, which expands the support area and allows different configurations of use.

On the support countertop, the Deca Dual Supreme Sink received two Enjoy Go Monocommanders, which combine in one product the monocommand and the certified class A water filter by Inmetro, ensuring quality water, in addition to mobility with a movable spout, options for concentrated or delicate sprays, and an articulated aerator, providing comfort for daily tasks. The countertop also includes an Organizer Tray that aids in supporting and organizing utensils and the Deca Retractable Bench Shower, which facilitates food hygiene and expands the functionality of the project.

Together, these solutions expand the use of the kitchen beyond preparation and encourage rituals of receiving and sharing the project fluidly. “Cozinha Viva Deca translates the brand's vision for the new way of living. The solutions appear as design pieces that participate in the narrative of the project, connecting innovation and identity. The kitchen reaffirms its role as a place of meeting and receiving, enhancing the experience of conviviality,” comments Helga Dias Junqueira, Marketing and Branding manager at Deca.

In the living area, the striking presence of the piano invites musical moments and reinforces the idea of conviviality, while the arches that serve as a smooth transition between the projects reinterpret a traditional element of local architecture, creating a link between past and present. The original flooring, made of wooden blocks, has been preserved and received a geometric rug with the coatings Harmonia Brick BK and SBE and Bronx Decor RD MLX from Portinari. Regional craftsmanship and Pernambuco identity also appear in manual paintings and ceramics from the Estúdio Faz and in works by André Menezes, in a contemporary language.

The cabinetry in the natural Pau Ferro pattern from Duratex provides a welcoming base for the project. Featured are six display niches where Deca's Slim Bathroom Sinks in the color Sage are exhibited as works of art, valuing the design in its conceptual dimension.
