Brazilian art highlights Denise Barretto's studio at CASACOR SP
“Fellowship and introspection alternate in this composition, with a focus on comfort, timelessness, few elements and respect for sustainability”, says Denise Barretto, who designed a unique space for a home for CASACOR São Paulo. Named Atelier de Morar, the integrated spaces have art as part of the project's personality. In 130 m², the studio flows through a spatial mosaic of wooden textures. Curated by Denise, works by Brazilian artists such as Denise Milan, Hilal Sami Hilal, Mariannita Luzzati and Claudio Cretti inhabit the walls and furniture of the space.

The living room not only defines the heart of the space, but also connects the other areas: on one side, the dining room and gourmet area; and on the other end, the bedroom and bathroom. The continuity of the house is achieved by the harmony of ceramic and terracotta colors, applied to contemporary design and works of art. The living room is organized around a circular rug and favors linen and velvet furniture. The green tones of Herbert Baglioni's work and the coffee tables made of natural wood logs connect the resident to nature inside as well.

The dining area, positioned to enjoy views of a garden, features cleanly designed black chairs around a table with a black marble top. Off-white upholstered chairs brighten up the composition.

The gourmet area combines graphite wood with a pewter-finished sink. The architect designed the central island, which, together with the two stools, also becomes a counter for quick meals. Affection, the pillar of CASACOR ’s 2019 theme, is present in the organization of the environment around the living room, to be with people and talk. “The entrance through the gourmet kitchen, in the old Brazilian style, is a strong connection with the affection of cooking and being in a group,” he comments.

Juxtaposed against the cedar and straw screen are the office and bedroom. The mustard suede armchair forms a reading corner surrounded by works of art and photographs.
