In this edition of
CASACOR Bahia , several architects rescued Brazilian biomes or some of the four elements of nature to create the concepts for their projects. The result was the following 10
environments , which reverberate
biophilia and present impressive
landscaping projects.
Check it out! 1. Voices of the Amazon
In addition to revitalizing the tables of the original Bahia Othon Palace café, the project features references inspired by the Amazon . From the landscaping to the use of Tidelli chairs in burgundy tones, representing the colors of the Uirapurus birds, the entire environment is related to the Amazon biome. The furniture features benches made of MDF, in the new Rio Negro and Jequitibá Rei patterns. 2. Imaginary
Bringing a deep connection between art , design and the essence of nature in a 120 m² space: this is the proposal of Wesley Lemos' project, which presents an exhibition based on landscapes created by great names in the visual arts. The presence of nature was incorporated in a subtle way, through large canvases, which value the connection with the earth and celebrate the aesthetics of modern architecture . 3. Origins Gallery
The poetics of the earth are the primordial element of the environment, due to its capacity to promote life and give new meaning to death. Anchored in the pillars of ancestry and human and social relations , the project reinforces the power of Brazilian culture by bringing plurality among the exhibitors. Artists Mario Vasconcelos, Annia Rizia, Allan Silva and Almir Lemos showcase Afro-Diasporic culture with their clay handicrafts; Iuri Sarmento represents the baroque and his Portuguese ancestry with the reinterpretation of porcelain; Bruna Gidi reflects on the environment and social contrasts with her series (EN)CENAS; Jorge Amaro shows his colorful bamboos and Alexandre Feliciano paints Yemanjá.

4. Living Dialogues
The design of the space is inspired by three references: mud houses, parquet floors and the Bahia Othon Palace itself . Fluidity and lightness are the hallmarks of the choice of furniture with rounded finishes and natural elements such as stones, present in the flooring and furniture. The space also pays homage to the traditional ceramics of Maragogipinho and Bahian art. 5. Terra Lounge
Inspired by Irará, Bahia, the birthplace of architect Dinah Lins, the space reflects memories of her childhood and adolescence. The space stands out for its use of textured coverings that evoke nature and innovative furniture, such as pieces signed by designer Victor Vasconcelos and a signature table from Dinah's office. The colors and materials chosen, such as earthy tones and natural textures , were selected to reflect the concept of clay and the connection between humans and the earth. (Gabriela Daltro/CASACOR)
6. Aina Restaurant
Through large glass profiles, the Ainá Restaurant connects intimately with the sea and transforms it into a natural setting. The project preserves traces of the original architecture of the place, adds sustainable materials, highlights lighting and carpentry elements and designs a terrace surrounded by gardens. 7. Bubble Cabin Home
Designed as a luxurious retreat , the space offers visitors the opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Harmoniously integrated into nature, the transparent bubble-shaped cabin allows every detail of the natural environment – from the sound of birds to the brightness of the stars – to be fully appreciated. 9. Aruan Cabin
A sanctuary that combines the solidity of rough stones with the fluidity of organically designed furniture, the Aruan Cabin pays homage to the
women of Chapada Diamantina through the images displayed on the walls, which illustrate their moments of courage breaking rocks with their own hands. The objects present in the space, made by the Pataxó people from southern Bahia, complete the space, considered by the architect as a celebration of life, roots and connection with the land.
Camila Maia - Cabana Aruan. 10. Leaves Shelter
Refúgio Folhas was mainly inspired by the album "Brasileirinho" by Maria Bethânia. The choices of colors , materials and objects were guided by the aesthetics of the album: earthy tones , ironwood veneers and abundant vegetation. The highlight is the use of natural stones and landscaping , which reflect a connection with nature. The furniture , designed by Biasá, reinforces this concept with natural materials. In addition, the art curation values local artisans and different artists, celebrating regional culture . Service – CASACOR Bahia 2024
