Frenchman Jean De Just, participating for the first time in
CASACOR São Paulo 2018 , presents a space that extols Brazilian indigenous culture, with modern touches and elements from France. This is the
Lavabo dos Encontros , a lively, colorful and cozy environment, which is also functional.

The highlight of the bathroom conveys the concept of the space well: a seven-meter wall, which received a
painting originating from the Xingu people, created by Anuía Amaru. Jean
invited the artist and chief Anuiá to recreate a work, which is composed of four colors which have their proper meanings: the white and blue tones represent the sky; the red, are the beings and life and the black of the genipap. For the chief, the painting represents strength, happiness and vivacity, also translating the theme of this exhibition year,The Living House . (Renato Navarro / CASACOR)
Opposite the painting is a tiled screen by architect Noel Marinho, who made it especially for this space and also marked his last piece produced in life, since Noel passed away a month before the opening of the event. The object represents the modernist Brazilian culture and still harmonizes with all the other tones arranged in the project. (Renato Navarro / CASACOR)
In order to pay homage to his country of origin, the professional opts for plaster furniture, characteristic of France, such as the mirrors, the floor lamp and the sideboard. Other pieces signed by Zanini de Zanine and Giacomo Tomazzi, reference the contemporary style. There are also indigenous benches, baskets and headdresses, highlighting the culture and beauty of native Brazilian crafts created by the Indians.

The choice of the Venetian turquoise tone was made to promote a feeling of well-being and welcome, since, in addition to being a functional bathroom, the space is a place for meetings and pleasures, where people can sit and rest for a few minutes. .

Finally, the Ingo Maurer light fixture, in the center of the bathroom ceiling, is covered in paintings by Anuiá Amaru, reinforcing the Brazilian aesthetic of the space.
