When organizing an event as significant as CASACOR SP — the largest exhibition of architecture, interior design, and landscaping in the Americas — it is essential to ensure accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities. Therefore, the successful partnership with ICOM, a Brazilian social tech leader in inclusion services and accessible communication for the deaf community, is renewed for the third consecutive year in 2025. "CASACOR is an event that understood the importance of including all people in cultural and sensory experiences. ICOM serves as a technical partner to enable this inclusion in practice," comments José Araújo Neto, CEO of ICOM. Installed in strategic locations throughout the show, simultaneous translation technology into Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) allows deaf visitors to interact with content and exhibitors on equal access terms — one of the major goals of CASACOR SP. This all happens through the ICOM platform, which connects an interpreter via real-time video call, facilitating these individuals' experiences in each project.

This initiative ensures that deaf people can fully participate in the event, with autonomy. At the same time, it reinforces ICOM's role as an agent of social transformation and inspires the architecture and design sector to think about truly inclusive solutions for this community.

"Our ideal partners are usually corporations focused on continuous accessibility. However, the visibility generated by an event like CASACOR allows us to present our solution and engage with other strategic audiences, such as builders, developers, architects, designers, and major retail brands — manufacturers of appliances, automation solutions, and furniture," says Araújo.

In addition to maintaining a presence in the routine of the São Paulo exhibition, ICOM also promotes, every year, an inclusive guided visit aimed at people with disabilities. In 2025, the meeting took place on July 22, and the community was able to attest to the accessibility of the route by freely circulating through all the projects of CASACOR — perfectly adapted for people with hearing, visual, or motor disabilities.
