About the show
Around the world, the yuppie workaholic style of the 80s has been replaced by the appreciation of quality of life. In large cities, there is a search for greater comfort at home. People avoid going out for fear of delinquency or to escape the stress of traffic, parking attendants, and lines. Technological advancements such as fax machines, personal computers, the internet, video, and cable TV have helped transform the home into a cocoon, where one works, lives, and only leaves for the safety of friends' homes. Home delivery services and frozen products were the first in this new market. Subsequently, a series of industries, especially European ones, presented themselves with products of extreme quality design. Casa Cor showcases some of the most sophisticated products and services in the world, in the work of architects and decorators who, with discernment, associate them with our materials, confronting them with our culture. This blend has been the driving force of a process that demands the emergence of professionals and companies with new design, finish, durability, and comfort goals. For eleven years in Brazil and in its fourth edition in Minas Gerais, we are pleased to find at Casa Cor, more and more Brazilian industries, designers, artists, and craftsmen gathered in a showcase where the greatest contribution is the formation of a consumer market for a quality national design.
