Balcony of Being and Backyard of Healing
CASACOR Ribeirao PretoFor interior designer Vinícius de Mello, all spaces can be therapeutic – and this was the idea that defined the direction of the project. When designing the 140 m² area that includes a balcony and garden, he brought references from his research in the area of psychology, his involvement with yoga and meditation, a recent trip to India and, mainly, his training in environmental energy therapy. “It is a space to live in the here and now, with little technological interference and elements that remind us to stop, breathe, relax, meditate and practice self-care”. As visitors experience the place, they gradually discover the diversity of elements that reinforce this concept. Such as the details of the landscaping and the texts written on the stones that make up the walkway. Or the immersion bathtub, which allows visitors to encounter aromas and medicinal herbs, and the draining floor that connects the balcony to the garden, providing fluidity. Antique or sentimental objects, souvenirs from travels and family pieces give a personal touch to the space, which also has the mission of reflecting memory and behavior, telling a story. “In every creation we think about how to produce health, well-being and peace of mind for users through an enchanting and exclusive experience. A home for the body, a dwelling for the soul.”
