CASACOR Bahia

Inspired by the theme "From the present, the now", architect Vitor Martins created Stúdio Ébano, an environment that pays homage to Ilê Aiyê, the first Afro block in Brazil and one of the most important cultural expressions of the Salvador Carnival, which celebrates 50 years in 2024. The 45 m² studio has a base of neutral colors and highlights the colors of the afro block: red, yellow and black. The space features works by visual artists J. Cunha and Alberto Pitta, who have already made prints for the block, photography by Pedro Ariel, curator of the exhibition, which expresses the beauty of the Ebony Goddess, and a turban made by Dete Lima, stylist and one of the founders of Ilê.
