CASACOR Minas Gerais

The backlands as inspiration, in a more arid aesthetic, as if everything were modeled from clay. The concept of Francisco Oliveira's work is based on this Brazilianness, on the strength of this very peculiar landscape. That's why the floating floor, dry-installed, is gray, with a very realistic rocky texture. The linear counter, which serves as the bar, has a terracotta ceramic coating on the base and, on the top, a Portobelo slab was used, which imitates Corten steel. The furniture, designed by the architect for Deck Home, includes a three-seater sofa and four armchairs that are a variation of the same model and are accompanied by aluminum and wood side tables. The furniture is made of nautical knitting, nautical rope, aluminum, wood and waterproof fabric, suitable for outdoor areas. The composition also includes three benches made of wooden logs, giving the space the impression of a square, with views of both the Serra do Curral and the Palácio das Mangabeiras. Plant pots of various sizes and diameters continue the green surroundings within the space. The São João lamp, inspired by the lanterns typical of June festivals, is a highlight, made of clay, in traditional pottery, in a floor version, and, on a metalwork portico, the charming suspended version of the Adélia armchair, inspired by the writer Adélia Prado, in aluminum and terracotta nautical knit, both pieces also by the architect. Sculptures made of steel, wood and clay, in addition to other pieces made by Sebrae artisans, spread art in this section of the backlands amidst the gardens of the Palácio das Mangabeiras.
