CASACOR

Thiago Manarelli and Ana Paula Guimarães chose a French restaurant to celebrate their 17th participation in CASACOR. In partnership with the construction company Perplan, which invited them to carry out the project, the architects transport visitors to the atmosphere of an authentic Parisian bistro. Between the mix of textures and the preference for green and earthy tones, the origin of a sophisticated, cozy and intimate space. In its design, however, the duo made sure to add a Brazilian flavor, creating a connection with the history of the iconic house that hosts the show. Without the need for major interventions, the architecture of the place was respected: the peeling walls reveal the original bricks, and elements such as the old statue and the garden were integrated, breaking the boundary between interior and exterior. “We sought harmony between the past and present, revisited classic pieces with a new interpretation, and dared to combine the French air with the dynamics of Brazilianness. The proposal was to challenge the established standard, showing that it is possible to create incredible, sensitive spaces full of meaning.”
