A pupil
CASACOR Ribeirao PretoPupila is an invitation for each visitor to connect with their own memories and references. Based on this idea, the contrast of colors, textures and shapes in this home office focuses on representing the memories of interior designer Marcelo Estevam, newcomer to CASACOR. As an example, it was the memories of the moments when he produced crafts with his mother that gave direction to the project. “I thought of paying homage to her, as she still makes rugs, and using this as patchwork on the bed. The idea is to bring back an aesthetic from the 1970s, which this year appeared at the Milan Fair. The latest fashion shows by designers such as Issey Miyake and Paco Rabanne also indicate this recovery, which shows how fashion dictates the aesthetics of the world, including architecture.” Natural elements and strong colors, hallmarks of Marcelo's work, give identity to the space, as do the marble, the stained glass windows and, mainly, the mirror that represents an eye, the work of Renata Carrascosa and Marcelo Dias. “It is the pupil that connects what exists outside with what is inside. And it is through it that the present becomes memory.”
