Inspired by biomimicry and the concept of ancestral futurism, the Living Vitória-Régia, designed by Daniela Agulha and Luiza Gaspar, proposes a sensitive, poetic way of living that is connected to the present. The project occupies two former confinement rooms of the Casa Nossa Senhora das Mercês, transformed into a space for welcoming and contemplation. The vitória-régia, a symbol of resistance and natural intelligence, guides the use of organic forms, textures, and solutions that respect the cycles of life. A portal leads to the view of the chapel's dome, creating a connection between the sacred, memory, and the everyday. In times of climate urgency and urban unrest, the projects emerges as a silent manifesto: to live is also to slow down, reconnect, and cultivate belonging.
