Sink Yugen
CASACOR Ribeirao PretoIn Japanese culture, Yūgen defines the beauty of something inexplicable, of the invisible. For Laura Tomio, the feeling of well-being generated by the energy of crystals is also inexplicable. Thus, between Eastern concepts and natural elements, the soul of this project emerges. The architect interprets the bathroom as a place of purification, of direct contact with water that refers to the fluidity and exchange of energies. “The energy of the house, just like ours, is constantly changing, and the crystals help to revitalize the environment”. In this scenario, the main character is the Cristallo Pink quartzite, on the countertop. To symbolize the curves of the human body, reflecting the house as its extension, the organic shapes of the architecture appear. To bring comfort, essential in this self-care environment, the option for indirect lighting and tones chosen based on color psychology. Completing the space is the art of sisters Nini Gracia, who painted the ceiling and walls, and Camila Blooming, who created the flower arrangements. “The Yügen lavatory reflects the architecture that welcomes, that is body and home, that embraces.”
