CASACOR

There are multiple layers that make up the universe of Baniua cosmology, which in turn are linked to deities, spirits, other people and elements, connecting what is below and above the earth. One of these layers is the place of healing, where Nhiãperikuli lives, responsible for the shape of the world, shared with Kamathawa. Denilson Baniwa, an indigenous artist and activist, linked this cosmology with other productions – A Queda do Céu, by Davi Kopenawa and Bruce Albert, and Futuro Ancestral, by Ailton Krenak – to create his work Segurar o Céu, two special installations for CASACOR, providing visitors with a connection with other ways of living, understanding and sustaining the world.
