Comfort Island
CASACOR BahiaWith 197m², Ilha de Conforto is inspired by the African concept of Sankofa — which means "it is not taboo to go back and seek what has been forgotten." By looking at Salvador's roots, it is possible to build a future that preserves the city's culture and identity. Alessandra Cohen brings a sensitive and profound perspective that values history without renouncing innovation. The space includes an exhibition of photos by renowned photographer Pierre Verger, famous for portraying daily life in Bahia and African influences. Alongside the photographs, works by young artist Beatriz Sampaio-Bea, in cotton, watercolor and Indian ink, depict orishas, offering a young and modern vision of Afro-Brazilian ancestry. The landscaping, with the local biome, connects the environment to nature and reinforces the dialogue between past and future.
