Driven by the contagious energy of the music that fills his childhood memories, architect Marcelo Salum pays homage to African culture in this project. “It’s a rhythm that moves me,” he says. From the colorful Carnival costumes to the joy of samba circles - depicted in a painting by Luiz Pasqualini - the 200 m² space incorporates several references. Wooden panels reproduce Adinkra symbols, created by the Ashanti people of West Africa, and furniture designed by Marcelo and Frederico Cruz refers to the emblems present in the work of artist Rubem Valentim.
