Syncretic Bathroom

CASACOR São Paulo - 2024

By evoking the syncretism of Brazilians as a process of cultural intersection, architect Isadora Araújo glorifies two figures: Sant'Anna, mother of Our Lady in Catholicism, and Nanã Buruquê, the orisha of still waters. In the 40 m² unisex bathroom, calacata marble refers to Jesus' grandmother's mantle, and copper, an element of the African entity, appears on doors and metals. Floors installed by interlocking and the layout of coverings with minimal cuts help with the later reuse of the pieces. LEDs, automatic taps and dual-flow flush valves complete the range of sustainable solutions.
